Error (-10): No encoders can tune the selected station

I posted this in another thread a week ago, but had no comments/help, so here goes with a new thread:

I've seen this error every morning for the past 10 days when trying to tune to any channel.

Since it only happens first thing every morning, I suspect it's something to do with my WHS server going to sleep and waking up.

Restarting the Sagetv service fixes the problem.

As you can see from my sig. below my system uses HD-PVRs and Directv receivers controlled by Sagetv service running on an HP Mediasmart server. It's been running fine for well over a year, and was fine for a while after upgrading to Sagetv 7.0.23.

Help!

Just a shot in the dark, but have you disabled windows from putting the USB devices to sleep?

Thanks - any 'shot' is welcome!

Nothing has changed on the server side, so I don't think this would be necessary.

Also, just stopping and starting the Sagetv service fixes the problem, so I'm pretty sure it's a sage software problem.

I get this often. I'm using the network encoder dvbe4sage to tune my sky channels, and it's been crashing and shutting down, which causes error(-10) messages.
Presuming you're using a network encoder too, when it happens, go to system information, and check whether your network encoders are functioning. If it says 'false', then you have your answer.
I suspect it's caused by the digital everywhere sky cards I'm using. I have managed to reduce it drastically by automatically rebooting the server at 4am every day.
Does it sound like the same problem?

No, I use Sagetv service running on my WHS server and Hauppauge DVRs with Directv receivers.

I wish I could find a way to auto reboot my WHS every am, but it's an HP Mediasmart!

RESOLVED

It appears this was caused (somehow) by a problem with registration of Sagetv v7 on my server!?!
