New type of HD-PVR failure

Today, I noticed a new failure of the HD-PVR. While recording a show, the HD-PVR blue LED lighting, and red recording LED were blinking on and off, fairly regularly about once a second.

There was no Sage System Message posted.

I played back the show that was recording, and consistent with the recording cycling, the playback was broken into short discontinuous segments.

I'm using HD-PVR drivers 1.5.6.1 if that makes any difference.

Has anybody else seen this? It is completely new to me. Usually, when it fails, it just stops working.

I'm installing .22 now - don't really expect it to make any difference though.

Sometime in the last few beta builds, I think there has been a regression in HD-PVR reliability.

I would really recommend upgrading to the latest drivers for the HDPVR. I've not had any issues with my HDPVR and the newest drivers while running v7 on any beta version.

Were you having any reception issues with your STB today by chance? That can wreak havok on the HDPVR.
