Well, feel free to quote the parts of the wiki which aren't clear, and say how you would reformulate them...

Play will play on the SageTV client you are monitoring (top-right icon), like say an HD300 extender...

Nothing to do with that one either... In the SageTCPServer plugin configuration, you can setup a password if you want.

Right, jreichen never implemented the music streaming in the iOS streaming plugin. So again, the Play command acts on the HD300 or whatever you are monitoring...
what does port 9260 cover? and is it 9260, or FROM 9260 to 9262?

So if I am in an airport, and not monitoring a client or extender, just my server, then the "play" button has no use? Only Streaming?

I think the combined Android/iPod/YouTube/iPad combo instructions confused me a little. thanks for the VLC clarification.

and if my music is all on my server, then there's no way to listen to it onmy iPad remotely?

does the same apply to photos on the server as well? currently I can't see them, just your logo...but I don't have ports 9260 open

It depends how many SageTV clients you have (server's UI, software clients/MPV/HD100/HD200/HD300), I've seen people with 10+ clients.

Some people like to mess with their families, but normally no. I added an "Actions" section to the wiki, to spell out that stuff...

You should use iCloud or sync it... Music has never been a strength of SageTV, so that's why jreichen didn't bother including it in his iOS streaming plugin.

That would be a jetty configuration issue. Streaming, thumbnails and images all go through the jetty web server.

I just purchased TiSageTV through the app store yesterday and am very excited- it looks like just what I've been hoping for!

I'm still going through the setup and am confused by the instructions for setting up SageTCPServer on the wiki- there's an option for Sage v7 (which I have), then an option for v6. Following steps 1 and 2 for v6, there's a new heading "1) Modify the Sage.Properties File" and another step about modifying the properties file. Do I still need to follow these steps for v7, or are they just for v6?

Thanks! Can't wait to get this up and running!

I've cleaned up a bit, as SageTV version 6 isn't supported any more, and the configuration has been stream lined since...

any idea why the app finds different tv guide channels then the ones I have activated in SageTV? I think it's holding onto the listings that were active when the app was installed, and I have made changes since then
how do I update your app to reflect the new channels I have enabled in SageTV's program guide?

ps...how many people ask what it was like to hoist the Stanley Cup?

Right, it only queries the list of channels if it doesn't have any. So you need to wipe the TiSageTV database (from Information/About) and have it grab the newer list.

Less now than when he won his first one...

So there's a new version on the App Store... It might be slightly faster and does fix some crashes. It will clear its image cache on the first launch, but after will actually reuse the same images over wifi and 3G...

Version 1.52

- Modified the image caching to no longer be reliant on the URL and jetty port.
- Fix: Could crash pressing a tab bar, if the Info tab had been navigated through...

Version 1.51

- [iPad] Changed the style of some buttons.
- Fix: The blue gradient had some issues.

Version 1.50

- Updated the AsyncSocket version.
- Converted to use ARC.
- Fix: Some iPad expanded view details were shifted.

Version 1.49

- Fix: Feedback button would crash if the email client was not configured.
- Moved some logic to the AppDelegate.

I have upgraded to this version but now the app closes whenever i play anything via client emulation. does not make any difference if it's an extender or pc client. was working fine on previous versions.

Is that on an iPad? I'm not seeing that issue on my iPod Touch, I'll have to try it out on the iPad emulator...

EDIT: OK, I did find such an issue on the iPad version. The update should be available within the next week, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks

Hi Fonceur

Just downloaded your app TiSageTV, it work great! It shuts down by itself once in a while, but apart from that, its great. Well worth the money.

So thank you and keep up the good work

Rasmus

If you can figure out how to reproduce the issue, let me know and I'll try to look into it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I neglected to mention that it was iPad version.

Question....in TISage Remote, when I click on the icon to choose which part of my sage system I want to control, it gives me a bunch of awful MAC addresses that aren't very user-friendly. Is there a way to make an alias for them? I can't ever remember which address is which extender, and which is my server...

Go into the config of TCPServer to define the friendly names.

Sorry, and where do I access that? My server, my iPad, on each HD300 extender, in the SageTV config file, or where? I've looked around and I don't see any TCP Server config...

If you go to the SageTV plugin configuration, select installed plugins, select SageTCPServer, select configure plugin.

Excellent! Ok, so next question. I notice that when I stream content to my iPad or browse photos, I get a little bit of the stream/photos, but the content delivery seems to stop after about 15 seconds.

I'm wondering if it is just buffering...do I need to be more patient or is there another potential problem at work?
