Question DHCP problems

Hi,

I seem to be able to get some sort of connection on the router with WPA security. The first problem is that when connecting a USB keyboard the number keys behave as if you are using the remote. You have to press 2 four times, then wait.

More important is that it doesn't seem to be able to get a IP address. The DHCP server is responding:

Oct 21 04:19:56 tunbridge dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:18:e7:7b:26:86 via eth0
Oct 21 04:19:56 tunbridge dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.4.32 to 00:18:e7:7b:26:86 via eth0

Oct 21 04:21:00 tunbridge dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:18:e7:7b:26:86 via eth0
Oct 21 04:21:00 tunbridge dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.4.32 to 00:18:e7:7b:26:86 via eth0

but the device just times out.

When I use static IP, it seems to connect OK - at least I can ping it from other machines when it is connected.

Any ideas please?

Simon

I'm not sure what router you have, but do you have any type of MAC security turned on where only devices in the MAC list are allowed to connect?
