Zotac Zbox hd

Is anybody using the Zotac Zbox as a sage client and if so how does it perform ? I was thinking of one of these to replace an old Hauppauge mvp.

I have one, depends what you're using it for. You said you are replacing a MVP, so is it for SD only?

Do you already have one lying around or are you buying one?

I have never used one, but for that price seems like HD300 is the way to go for sure.

do you eventually wnt to turn it into a regular comp?

reason is you will have to mess with codecs and such within the sageclient. I have done this before and i personally found it to be quite cumbersome and rather annoying.

Things might be easier now with V7, but i just abandoned all hope on the sageclient PC.

The HDx00 are so nice they just work. everything is ready to go, no need to do anything special quite, small, fan less...they are just the way to go in my opinion.

I have been using an HTPC based on the Zotac 330 for over a year in my theater and it plays everything, HDTV and 1080p MKVs. I had 4gb ram because I think the ION shared system memory and you have to get to proper codecs set up. I loved the little box.

Notice I said "loved" because last week I replaced it with an HD300 and I could not be happier. No keyboards, no usb IR receivers, no sleep & wake issues. The HD300 will be about half the price of an Atom box.

Thanks guys. HD300 sounds like the one to go for. Less messing around.
