iPod Conversation of movies from collection

Hey Folks,

I already use the convert capability to watch some of my recordings on my iPod when travelling.

My question is, is there any easy way to use this conversion tool for converting a handful of my existing ripped Movie collection (play through SMM today) so the kids can watch movies for car journeys?

In other words can SageTV convert existing MPEG2 files to MP4 rather than converting as it records?

If you click on options while on a whole folder in imported video, you have the option to convert and output to whatever directory you want. I get there by going through Video->By Folder -> highlight folder you want and click "options" (my my SD200 remote) and then convert.

Does that create another converted copy of does it convert the existing one?

It's an option to delete the original or not. For example, I output mine to another shared directory I have created in my WHS shares \\server\SageConverted\ and leave the original in place.
