Turn off network activity LED's?

Just wondering if there is an option to turn off the network activity LED's? My HD300 is in the bedroom and when I turn out the lights it lights up the wall like a Christmas tree (makes it really hard to sleep). I tried mounting it behind the TV and that didn't really help things.

On the HD200 I put electrical tape over the front but it's a lot harder to do so on the back of the HD300.

Take a black sharpie and dab it dimmer and dimmer, or completely opaque if you wish... If too much dim, take a cotton swab with a touch of rubbing alcohol to wipe it clean.

As an alternative method, I used a paper hole-punch and punched a hole out of a piece of black electrical tape and used the little round piece that the hole-punch punched out, and stuck that over the LED indicator.

Because to me, it is obvious that there is network activity as long as I am seeing network content on the screen, and as long as I can see my shows on the server in the menu lists. This is a totally unnecessary light for this unit.

Good idea guys, i'll give those a shot.

I don't mind the lights when the unit is powered on and i'm using it, but when powered down/standby mode, I don't see the necessity of having them tell me there is traffic.

I too use the "electrical tape" method of blotting the light. Even in the living room, the flicker of the light started to get annoying, so I gave it a little square! It's pretty much invisible from a distance over 3' or 4'.

They probably just purchase a standard NIC connector and they all come with the LED.
