Hauppauge 1850 tuner disappears

I'm baffled by my disappearing and randomly appearing 1850 PCIe tuner. I have Sage beta 7 on a windows xp sp3 machine with both a Hauppauge 1850 and a HDPVR. Device manager states that the 1850 is functioning, but usually it is not seen as a valid tuner. Occasionally, it will reappear temporarily, such as when I installed the latest Sage V7 RC. Then as quickly as it appeared, POOF.. it was gone. I tried uninstalling the 1850 and let windows reinstal the drivers, but the same result. I checked the sage proerties file and the 1850 is listed as an encoder.

Any suggestions? BTW, I use the 1850 for SD channels to play on a low powered client so I would like to keep it along with the HDPVR.

In the sage.properties file, is it listed on the mmc/ignore_encoders line? If so, clear that line while SageTV isn't running and try setting it up again.

I checked and my "mcc/ignore" line is as follows:

mmc/ignore_encoders=HD Audio rear input|Bluetooth Hands-free Audio|NVIDIA DualTV YUV Capture|Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000|Scientific-Atlanta AV/C Tuner Device|Logitech Microphone (Pro 4000)|Scientific-Atlanta AV/C Panel Device|NVIDIA DualTV YUV Capture 2|

I don't think anything refers to the 1850 tuner.
