Problem with Online Videos in 7.0.18
I just noticed that I can't playback any kind of online videos anymore in 7.0.18. Not sure if this is really a new problem for this build, or if it was already present in the previous one, but it used to work until recently (and I'm not aware of any changes in my coniguration regarding playback).
Here's what is exactly happening, I select a video (e.g. from youtube), and then I get the usual "the content is being buffered". I also see the timebar being loaded, but playback never starts (no video or sound). The strange thing is that no error is displayed either. I use dshow for playback, and according to the client log there aren't any errors reported. Has anybody seen this, or rather does this work for everybody else? |

I just noticed the exact same thing last night. I'm on 7.0.17.
Works fine on my extenders but not on my client. I changed playback to the SageTV Player for online videos, DirectShow for others...which got it working again for video playback. Unfortunately, now for online videos--which is now using the SageTV Player--audio is going through the Windows application default (which is the analog output on my sound card) instead of the SPDIF (which is what I'm telling the audio renderer in Sage to use). Strange that dShow is no longer working and strange that SageTV Player isn't using the renderer I'm telling it to use. I plan on opening a ticket but thought I'd confirm what Rico sees and also see if there can be a logical explaination for this. |

If you're having issues with online video and DShow playback, then be sure you didn't set the registry flag that disables the SageTV Stream Demux. It's at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\DirectShow\EnableSageTVStreamDemux

Upon closer examination, with dShow selected as the media player for all non-mpeg files, it looks like when the online video is the absolute first video played after Sage is started, then it will work. After the first video is played (any kind of video--Sage recording, Online video, etc), then afterwards online videos no longer works and I get the timebar being loaded but playback never starts.
Example: Step 1: Start Sage Step 2: Play any video including YouTube video --> video will play normally Step 3: Play YouTube video --> video will not play |

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\DirectShow\EnableSageTVStreamDemux=1 based on some communication that I had in relation to another bug. It used to be set to 0 beforehand |

I just double checked this again, setting "EnableSageTVStreamDemux"=dword:00000001 breaks online videos. Setting it to 0 works for online using dshow.
But when I set this to 0 I can't playback .dts audio files (this was the result of another bug I filed earlier). I just filed a bug about this. |
