Serial Connect to RCA DTV

Could someone who has done the serial connection to a DTV sat box please give a brief “How To” description. I’ve downloaded Girder the dll files, and all other plug in files needed. Does Sage control this directly or does it go through Girder. The enclosed txt files didn’t give a very clear instruction. I’m sure I could figure it out but some who already has could save me ton of time. Thanks

I did the initial Girder implementation of RCA DSS Serial control.

I have it working with SageTV using the EXETuner SageTV plugin.

First step is to ensure that you have serial control of the DSS working with DTVCon.

Second step is to ensure that you have Girder working without DTVCon and with the Generic Serial Plugin along with the RCA DSS Tuner ini file and GML file.

Third, ensure that event.exe is properly triggering Girder commands for the tuner.

Finally, have SageTV configured to send the events to Girder via the EXETuner plugin.

Ask a more specifc question about where you are having trouble and I will try my best to help.
