250 TV Turner Question?
I have read in different posts about people talking about different versions of the 250 turner, what are the different versions, and what are the differences?? Are there any advantages/disadvantages?? Also, if I do buy one, it will probably be from here bundled with sage, since Im still in the research stage of interest. What version is the one sage is selling at this link Here ?
Thanks, cc |

The one you will get from Frey is a type 16. All of the current ones being sold are type 16. The older cards are type 15. The difference is the 15 have a heatsink on them and run hotter.
Note: All 350 cards are a type 15.

also there are roslyn cards which have a -16 but they have extra hardware for live preview which is unavailable currently with SageTV v2 beta
they are marked 28xxx, I would wait until they are more supported before looking at them old -15 pvr 250 are marked 48xxx retail new version -16 are marked 32xxx and there is also a freestyle version of the old and new pvr 250 which have true RCA ports instead of an IR port and a MCE pvr 250 whichis like the - 16 pvr 250 freestyle but with radio there is also the pvr usb2 which also runs a -16 and has radio all these above are supported by sage and roslyn is sort of at least look at shspvr.com for pictures of every version made just stay way from pvr pci and pvr usb they are not supported |
