Ripoff du jour
Someone is selling (or at least trying to sell) an HD200 on eBay for $140.

I could actually see not needing breakout cables for component and analog audio being worth a slight premium in the right situation. Last edited by ybrew; 09-30-2010 at 10:03 AM. Reason: (repeated myself) |

I've often seen stuff go on ebay for well above their actual value (such as used items going for their new price). There's a sucker born every minute. I agree with ybrew, it's really only worth $75-$100 at this point. The HD300 just has too many advantages to not spend the extra $10!

Well, if you've just got to have that S-Video output, the HD-200 is still a good value.
Who knows, maybe they just really missed the blinking network activity light on the front .

FYI... I just sold mine on eBay for $85.
I listed it at $100 Buy It Now, accepting offers, knowing full well I'd come off $100. First offer was for $60, I didn't respond. Second was for $80, I replied with $90, he came back with $85 and I accepted. I think$75 - $85 is a reasonable price point for a used HD 200. Take care!

No offense, but that is your opinion. A free market system will set the prices on supply and demand. Obviously $140 is too high for you, so don't buy it. No need to come here and complain about it. Simply laugh at the guy and watch it be relisted.
But who knows, maybe the guys gets lucky and finds someone willing to pay $140 for it. If he does, more power to him. But if that happens, the buyer was obviously willing to pay that price and will live with it.

It is just my opinion but this specific forum is the forum for chatting about "aretty much nything else you'd like".
I am not particularly complaining about it - I just saw that item on eBay and chuckled a bit and thought I would post here. Obviously the market on eBay will set the price and that price seems to be more in the range of $60-$92 for the HD-200s that have sold on eBay in the last couple of weeks.

It is a free market.
I bought a popcorn hour and few years back and quickly realized that getting it to work as an extender for GbPvr was beyond my ability. I posted it on ebay for $200 which is about what I paid. I ended up getting about $350. I never felt guilty..... |
