Rescanning Media Content question

Hi All
I have a couple of (large) hard drives on a NAS that are used to store/archive
content. These are full, and in any event I do not add content to them.
How can I (or can I) configure SageTV v7 to keep this content available but not scan for changes every time I add something to other Media folders?
Seems to be a long waste of time waiting for one new addition to appear while
my entire archived library is re-scanned!
Thanks
Jim
