They will conflict if they are on separate channels & you only have 1 tuner (or not enough tuners to record all the ovelapping padded shows). If they are on the same channel, they will record back-to-back, but w/o the overlapping padding.
The beta's
Release Notes mention a couple changes:
Quote:
Added property "remove_padding_on_back_to_back_favorites". It defaults to true; if set to false padding will not be removed when Favorites are back-to-back on the same channel (which'll cause conflicts unless you have multiple tuners).

Airings drop padding if they're back to back with a manual record and don't if they're back to back with a watched favorite.

I'm not sure if I understand this last one... if it is back-to-back with a watched favorite, what difference would it make, since a watched show shouldn't be recorded again? (Unless there was a bug where the padding was dropped anyway, or if the watched show was set to be manually recorded.)

What I want is a universal padding of 1 minute for every show when possible . If the padding would create a conflict, I want it to automatically remove the padding to accomodate both recordings. I would also like to "force" padding when I feel padding is more important than conflicts (such as at the end of a football game).

It isn't there yet. You could always submit a feature request via the
