show length error
Sometimes sage reports a show length of zero or 3 seconds for a show that's a half-hour long. I can watch it but I can't fast forward or rewind--rewind brings it back to the beginning and ffwd brings it to the very end.
but then sometimes sage reports the proper length for the very same file and everything works ok. or the client reports it as the proper length but the server doesn't i can't seem to reproduce the issue with any predictability. it sometimes helps to close and restart the sage server is this a known bug and is there a magic bullet or at least a workaround for it? |

Since the original question was posted a couple days ago, I suppose I could try a wild guess: have you run any sort of disk tools to make sure there isn't a problem with the drive? It sounds like perhaps the data is there, but isn't getting read properly every time. Does it happen in any other playback programs? (Windows Media Player, perhaps.)

I've had a problem like this when there's a crash while it's recording.

I will try WMP and see if the same error occurs with these files
this occurs without any apparent crashing since my post I have defragged my apparently pathetically fragmented drives and boosted the thread priority of sage in windows task manager so far it seems like the error is limited to older files from previous sage betas i guess I'm on my own on this one. tonight I'll run scan disk and make sure the file system is not corrupt thanks for the suggestion |

I know that if it is an imported file...and you copied it to the imported drive while SageTV is up then you have to refresh the import (either by restarting the server, or by using the new RC3 refresh button)
