Where should Fanart be stored?

I notice that by default in SageTV7 Fanart is in the Phoenix directory that is under c:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\Phoenix\Fanart, or something like that.

Should Fanart be kept there or should it be moved somewhere else, say onto a recording drive? Would it be a bad idea to use a networked drive - could this slow down accessing Fanart which could slow the Sage UI?

To me it seems like bad practice to store this type of data on a system drive, especially since I imagine it can grow to be quite large over time. Some folks make try to keep their system drive relatively lean, especially if they use the PC only for Sage. And WHS only provides you with a 20GB system volume.

The default directory for fanart is "STVs/Phoenix/Fanart". The fanart can be stored anywhere you like, including a network drive, but I would think that you'd experience some latency on a network drive. If you move your fanart directory, then copy the files to a new area, and then update the property to point to a new location.

You will definitely have issues with network Fanart unless the coder caches copies local using the phoenix api calls that are available.
