USB UIRT and Hauppauge IR blaster with 2 hd pvrs

I'm trying to get 2 hd pvrs running at the same time.

One is up and running with a USB UIRT for channel changing and works great (mostly, still have occasional PVR going unavailable issues.) I got the other one up and running with the hauppauge IR blaster. If I run either by itself all is fine.

However, when I run both at once I have issues. The main issue (and it's big enough that I can't leave the system running to see if I have other issues) is that when the HD PVR that is using the USB UIRT does a channel change, most of the time that channel change is also done by the Hauppauge IR blaster associated with the other HD PVR, this is of course very bad.

I know I can setup the UIRT to do 2 (or 3) zones, but it feels like what I'm trying to do should work and I can't figure out why I'm having the problem I'm having.

Any ideas?

Thanks

One more detail.

Turns out the bad behavior only happens when I have the server watching the hd pvr that uses the USB UIRT. IF the server is watching the other HD PVR then the problem doesn't occur. Since I only use the server as a server and not as a viewing station this may not be a big deal for me, if the problem really doesn't happen when watching through my various extenders.

Thanks

Use the multi-zone capability of the UIRT and ditch the HD PVR IR blaster.

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...sb-uirt&page=6

This is what i do with my setup (see sig) and it works flawlessly.

Also, it sounds like your IR blasters are blasting both boxes at once. Build a tent around the emitter and receiver window out of something opaque (i use duct tape covered paper)

Actually, it appears to be working fine right now so long as I don't watch a show on the server (which I don't, it's a server.)

Thanks

I second the multizone capability of the USBUIRT. Pretty easy to setup and works flawlessly.
