BMT getting
Much of the content on my Sage server, including Recorded TV and imported videos (in the video library area) are episodes of Kids' shows such as Blue's Clues or Dora the Explorer. I have organized these shows into a folder structure as follows:
\\Sageserver\Videos\Kids' Shows\Dora the Explorer\ \\Sageserver\Videos\Kids' Shows\Blue's Clues\ The shows in these folders could be from DVD rips or, they could have been transferred from a previous Sage installation (so there is no record of the file in wiz.bin) or from other HTPC software like WMC or BTV. I also use SJQ to rn the Sage transcoder to convert newly recorded Kids' shows from MPEG-2 format to MPEG-4 Deinterlaced and move the file into the appropriate folder using the parameters of the Transcode command in SJQ. BMT tries to find Metadata for the episodes and when it does find something it is often wrong. For example in my \Videos\Kids\Blue's Clues\ folder I have a file called The Trying Game.avi. BMT decided that this is the movie "The Crying Game" so it has downloaded Fanart and metadata for that movie. Kids' shows will often have Episode Names that happen to be the same as movie names - for example "Lost and Found" is the title of a Dora episode and it is also the name of many movies. In that instance the title of the file exactly matches the name of a movie but in reality this is an episode title with a show title of %FOLDER% (if you know what I mean). Is there any way of dealing with these issues such as telling BMT that for certain folders that the Show Title is the folder name?

BMT doesnt look at the folder name. it only looks at the filename. youll have to include the show title AND the episode title in the filename for BMT to figure it out. So, for your Dora episode, you should at LEAST have it called "Dora The Explorer - Lost and Found.mkv", if not "Dora The Explorer - s01e02 - Lost and Found.mkv"

The original filename for the Sage generated files obviously did contain the show title (as well as the show ID#) but I got rid of it since it was redundant and it also made the file title too long if you didn't have the metadata managed properly. If Sage was using the filename to in the Video Library screen and the filename got truncated because it was too long then every show would be titled "Dora the Explor..." or whatever.
If I manually correct the metadata is there a way to prevent BMT for changing it back?

BMT wont rescan/modify the file unless you tell it to.

I thought the same thing, however.
I have a bunch of "Super WHY!" shows. Recorded a new one, it came is as "Super Why!" which is shows up separately. I logged into BMT and changed it. Went back to sage and they were all grouped together. Went to Sage next day and it had changed back.
