Unhappy Changing default SageTV colors?

Just downloaded SageTV (demo version) and really like it. But I have a couple of questions.

First, are the default application colors configurable? The default colors that were loaded (White chars/Cyan background) when I loaded the program are almost unreadable when viewing the system info or detail info screens.

Second, It seems that a new MPG file is created each time you change channels. Is this true? If so is there any way to limit (other then the "Video Diskspace" option in the Setup General Tab) the amount of space that is used up when just "surfing" channels. Are these files periodically deleted or chosen for erasure before actually "recorded" programs?

Third, I have a Hauppauge PVR-350 card and want to use the direct TV out feature. Will your on screen TV toolbars & OSD show up on the TV using the TV out port or only when using the software MPEG decoder?

Thanks

The default application colors are not configurable at this time. There will be various UI configuration enhancements in future releases. There is one setting you can change that will give you higher contrast. If you open the Sage.properties file and change it so:
ui/ntsc_colors=false

Then it'll disable the NTSC color conversion which effectively reduces contrast.

You should also check your display settings; there's a change your display is misconfigured and the colors aren't appearing as they should. Many different displays were used during the beta test, and there weren't any reports of it being 'unreadable.'

Yes, a new MPEG file is created for each channel you change. These 'partial' files are periodically deleted when more diskspace is needed; they are always deleted first over recorded programs. 'partial' refers to it not being a complete recording of a program

For the 350 tv-out; it's not enabled yet with Sage. It will be in a future release. We will have the entire UI available through the TV out if possible; this is something we are working on. The software is designed so this is easy; we just need to do the hardware integration and be sure the OSD functionality is available.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the quick response.

Disabling the NTSC property worked great. The white chars on blue background is definitely more readable.

Do you have any "rough" time frame when the PVR-350 direct TV out will be supported.
