STVi Dependencies

Hello,

I've been thinking of a way to save on plugin coding and was wondering if its possible or even if its the right thing to do.......but can I have an STVi plugin dependant on another STVi?

So for example, I'd want Plugin A to install, load and restart and then have Plugin B install, load and restart all via one click from the plugin manager.... Plugin B would be dependant on Plugin A being installed first.

Cheers

Ben

I think you can do that but they would both be installed and then restarted at the same time not separately I believe.

You are correct......I just tried, I guess I was being lazy before and thought it would be easier to ask rather than create

Is there any issues that anyone can think of when doing it this way? I didn't see anything in the logs when I ran my simple test.

Cheers

No as long as your dependencies are listed correctly they should be imported in order

This is exactly the idea behind my STVI Configurator plugin. It provides a common framework that other STVIs can depend on and hook into.

Or if you're making a mod to someone else's mod, this it how you'd do it, using an STVI dependency to make sure their mod gets loaded first so yours has a place to hook into.

Cool, I couldn't work out what this tool was..... I'll take another look at this as it sounds like another one of your tools that I'll really need to use

Cheers
