distorted audio
i am currently experiencing problems the audio on certain recordings from certain channels,
I am using the 3.5 gb setting and on certain channels when timeshifting or pre recorded the audio pops and hisses also ive had problems with the audio going quiet and then loud through whole programs, Ive tried different decoders on the same recordings and all pop andhis in the same places and so think it's an encoder setting, although it doesn't happen on all channels, all though some channels seem to broadcast with louder audio than others! any thoughts? |

I had similar issues with my Abit NF7 on-board sound. I replaced it with a Soundblaster Audigy 2 and haven't heard any since... dunno....

choose default wave out as render for the audio and it sounds great now
I use to have the same problem I can still cause static though when adjusting the master volume knob for my speakers , but hardly ever use that just my remote or volume control in windows or from my keyboard |

I'm unsure whether to splash out on a new sound card or not as i'm don't know whether my audio problems are sound card releted, as I backed up a file to dvd played it back on my stand alone player and still had popping and also hissing on high pitched dialog, this suggest that the popping and hissing is already in the file and so is an encoder issue? I'm using 3.5gb setting is there a way to maybe turn down th e bitrate of the audio only? would this help? as I have an m10000 i'd have to buy a usb sound card, I was looking at the soundblaster mp3 anyone got one?
cheers |
