I got receiver my new laptop and it came with a cyberlink remote
It works with powerDVD and Dell media experience
I am looking to remap the remote to work with SageClient

Actually, I downloaded a free program named "IR Assistant" (http://www.irassistant.com/dotcom/v_current/) and am happily using it with my RealMagik serial remote control for my sage client in the living room.

It's easy to setup, and has a fairly low learning curve.

After reading about this software it seems to be what I am looking for
but my remote does not have a driver for it
you just plug in the USB cable and it works with those applications
should I try out the com.zip ((version 1.2, updated 11.2.2000)
General COM driver. If there's no COM-driver for your infrared receiver, you may try to use it with this driver. This driver is included in the software package. Works also with some IrDa ports)?
or which one should I use?

actually I took a look at the real magic X card and the receiver appears to be the exact same with the exception of the X card's is serial and mine is USB

I wonder if this will be any help, cause I saw the X card has driver for IRAssistant

thanks for the link
-Robert

Well it looks like it is going to be returned if Dell does not help me out now on the phone
Anyone got any ideas for a replacement under $50
I was thinking about picking up a pair of LOLA remotes from ebay where they are pretty cheap and new

True... I give the useless ones to my kids so they can run around the house 'controlling' everything.
