trueHD Audio issue with blu ray
Ok, I am using a ATi Radeon HD 5750 which has built in support for the following formats
DTS Audio, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-Hd, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital via hdmi 1.3 going to my Yamaha RX v663 which handles the same formats. When I try playing any ripped DVD video the correct format is going to my stereo but when I try to play a ripped Bluray I get no audio at all. I have tried ac3filter, ffdshow_beta7_rev3154_20091209, and cyberlink Nothing works.. but I can play the bluray with correct audio via windows media player 11. OK my system is Windows 7 32 bit Ultimate 4 gig ram ATi Radeon HD 5750 GIGA-BYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1GHz Liteon Blu ray Sagetv Client 7.10 if I use default for audio filter I get the following error sage.playbackExecption error (-5,0x80040200) there was a problem rendering the audio portion of the content for playback. Default does pass the correct audio formats for all non bluray to stereo Thanks Russell |

It's been a couple months since you posted this, I would like to know if you found a solution. I am only having problems with a couple BD ISOs. They use TrueHD, all other BD ISOs of mine play just fine within version 7.

What do you have that's capable of decoding DolbyTrueHD?
If its your Amp, then make sure you are using something like FFDShow and telling it to passthrough DolbyTrueHD over SPDIF so it gets sent to your Amp unaltered, otherwise your system will try to decode it and you won't get the desired results. If you are relying on your PC to do the decoding, then the reverse is true, make sure your decoder is set to decode it and not just pass it through. I spent a whole bunch of time getting my HDMI pass through to work correctly. I found that I had to set the Audio Renderer in Sage to be the ATI Rear HD Output option rather than just Default or Default Direct Sound. So that may be an issue for you as well. -Striker- |

I use the analog output of the audio to go to my Logitech Z-5500 speakers, the Blu-ray player uses coax digital and the TV output uses the optical to get the Wii sound to the speakers. The Z-5500 cannot decode Dolby TrueHD. The BD ISOs that I can play do output in 5.1 over the analog, I hear it working correctly.
I was having problems playing back BD with DTS-MA, the movie acted as if I was fast-forwarding, but that was fixed by installing ffdshow. I found that the HD100 will play back the BD with TrueHD just fine but cannot play the audio of DTS-MA, those movies just play mute. I'll play around with the Audio Renderer options of SageTV and play with my codecs and see if I can find a combination that works.
