It does work - can you give some details about what you did and what it's doing? Equipment specs, etc? Do you know that PlayOn is working? Did you have it working with v6 before? Etc., etc....

I'm having issues playing videos now. I'm running playon 3.0.3.999. I can browse down to a video, but when I play it, it will say the video is unavailable on the network. This seems true for hulu and netflix. Using tubecore under media center I could get both hulu and netflix to work, so I think playon is ok. I deleted all the .cache file and stop and restarted the service. Any other ideas?

Netflix Instant queue. I cannot see all instant shows in my queue. I have tracked them down to TV Shows that have multi discs. Like Dexter Season one, comes on around 4 discs. None show up in the instant queue. Is there a way to get them to show? Tks, Bill

If the TV show you're looking for is within the first 50, it will appear as a single item at the top of the queue, regardless of its actual queue position. You then select that item to download the episode list and select the specific episode you want.

I have 26 in my instant Queue.. None of the TV shows that have multiple discs show when using EP's customization, I verified its not there in the v6.6 copy either. -Bill

I just added Dexter Season 1 to my Instant queue and it shows up just fine in Sage.
I'm confused by the fact that you keep mentioning multiple discs. Discs don't matter in your Instant queue; the entire season shows up as one queue entry, both in Sage and on the Netflix website. If you're seeing multiple queue entries for individual discs, you're looking at your DVD queue, not your Instant queue.

Can you post a log after you load your netflix queue? It sounds like my plug-in is detecting that you're running pre-v7 and disabling the subcategories that are needed for TV shows to show up.

Strange occurrence... I think. (?)
My server is in the basement, and is a fully-functioning PC (monitor, speakers, etc.), though generally not used for anything except running Sage (and PlayOn and YAC and other plugin-related stuff). Last night, my wife was playing a few videos for our daughter from the MTV portion of PlayOn. No big deal. But we had relatives coming through town who stayed with us last night, and the guest room is in the basement. They arrived a few hours later, hung out a while, and then went down to the room as we went to bed. A minute later, my aunt came up and knocked on our door, and asked whether we could "turn off the music coming from the computer cabinet". Turns out that there were 5 or 6 instances of Internet Explorer open on the server screen, each one opened to the MTV video player, playing videos from the artists that my wife had chosen earlier. Apparently they must have been playing since the time she watched the videos (several hours previous). My question is, does PlayOn open internet browser instances on the server desktop all the time (and close them when the video is stopped)? Or even sometimes? Did something break? Maybe something with just this (MTV) portion of PlayOn? I've never been downstairs near the server when there is a PlayOn video playing on an extender upstairs, so I don't know. The only other thing I can recall is that, at some point while watching earlier, the HD100 extender had completely locked up (needing hard reboot with the switch on the back). This might have been shortly before or after watching these videos. Perhaps that was what caused the videos to open up on the server?

Problem after updating to 3.0.3.999
I’m also having problems with PlayOn since it last update to 3.3.3.999. Everything work correctly before the update.
Message is: Error: The requested media file was not found on the server. I have tried several different categories, Hulu, PlayOn, YouTube, etc – all produce the same error. I would include logs but do not know where they are located. Jim |

It works as I have this exact setup. Are you sure you have the latest Playon version? If not install/upgrade it first. Once the plugin is installed via the SageTV7 plugin system, there really isn't much to do. Most issues now are related to the Playon software and not the actual plugin.

Opened a ticket with PlayOn support…
Here is what they told me – I have an incompatible IP address on my private network. So I did as they requested and changed my internal address to 10.0.0.xxx scheme. Well, it has fixed my problem but I am not happy about having to change. After changing to the 10.0.0.xxx scheme I did a quick restore from a backup (entire drive) and guess what, everything worked as before. Again updated PlayOn to 3.0.3.999 and again would not work with my internal address of 6.22.43.xxx. Jim |

@SageTV - TV shows aren't working via Netflix.. Handling this will require the ability to specify dynamic sub folders from within the podcast feed. Feature request has already been submitted and Sage sees the benefit, but its not trivial to implements so it'll prolly be a while for this one. Maybe its fixed in v7? I am still on v6

Then you're posting in the wrong forum. This thread is for issues with the V7 PlayOn plugin. Your issue does not occur in V7.

Yeah I know, but the other thread is closed. Anyway, that was the thing that made me upgrade to v7 last night. And it works as you said..
Thanks, Bill

ERROR(-2): Files selected for playback are no longer on disk
This is the error I get when trying to play shows from my Netflix queue using the Playon plugin. After downloading the buffer for awhile I get:
Error There was an error in playing C:\Windows\TEMP\onlineVideo323993881875300181.flv under that I get the error message in the title. I am able to play Hulu downloads, but since upgraded to the most recent plugin and the most recent version of Playon I started getting this error. I've included the "C:\Windows\TEMP" directory as a video input directory and don't know what else to do. I've looked for some sort of parameter that's set in Playon but can't find anything. Why is it doing this? What's the point of Playon if I can only use it with Hulu? [Update: I noticed that someone said that PlayOn told him that the internal address was wrong and should be of the form 10.0.0.x, but my addresses are of the form 10.0.1.x so I don't know why that would be a problem. Plus while Hulu works neither the FOX or Netflix do (and they did before the update). So, what's going on?] [Update 2: I've opened a ticket with Playon. Maybe they'll have a suggestion.] Last edited by freewheeling; 08-07-2010 at 09:53 PM. |

EP - apologies if I missed this somewhere, but I didn't see it and don't remember it being covered...
I use the ESPN PlayOn plugin to watch highlight clips of some of my favorite teams - specifically, currently, the MLB section, which has the highlights/wrap-ups of the most recent games. However, when you choose one, it typically sets 30 seconds for the highlight, and then the first 15 seconds are often a commercial (usually for the Army)... so you get the first 15 seconds of the highlight and then it just cuts off. Any way to manually force lengthening of these clips? Or is this a PlayOn plugin issue and not a Sage issue?
