I apologize if this has already been answered... been reading this thread for a while and don't recall seeing it.

But, is there a way I can view my entire Netflix online que? I have around 100 movies in the que but I think I can only see the first 50 using this plugin. If this is not a PlayOn limitation, is there a setting I can change to allow me to view my entire que (even if I have to change something in a properties file)? Thanks!!!

Nah, that's on me. I'll get it fixed in the next version. For now, you can fix it yourself by making this quick change in the file

C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\SageOnlineServicesEXEs\UPnPBrowser\UPnPBrowser.presets

Find the line that starts with Netflix_User_Queue and change it to be this...
Code:
Netflix_User_Queue:::"/search" "PlayOn:Netflix:Instant Queue:Alphabetical:+2"

If I understand correctly, there are two plugins,
1 - PlayOn for SageTV: STVI
2 - PlayOn for SageTV: Netflix/Hulu Queue Importer
Yeah, sorry about that, the whole thing is very confusing. I'm almost done with an update that merges all the plugins into one and that should make things much simpler for people.

So my question is, how can I configure what centent is integrated. Does it only do the Netflix/Hulu queues, or can it be configured to add other content, for example full episodes of the Daily Show under PlayOn's "Comedy Central" menu.
For right now I only support content from the Netflix/Hulu queues. I see your post and take a look at what it would take to add Comedy Central but its not trivial so its going to have to wait until I have some more free time after the holidays.

Sweet! Thanks much, evilpenguin. Great plugin! I was even exploring around in some of the "deeper" non standard channels the other night and found some cool stuff Thanks again!

Thanks for the info EP. I wasn't sure how much work it would require to add other content. Thanks for clearing it up and looking into it.

Changed the line above, EP, and works like a charm. Thanks! Question though... if I want it ordered like it is in my que, can I simply take out the word "alphabetical" from the code above? Thanks! (I'd just try it but I'm not able not at the HTPC right now so figured I'd just ask first )

Fresh install and cannot see Playon server

********** N/M see my post below... all is working ! **************

I've got a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate. Just downloaded and installed SageTV version 7 and the latest verionsion of Playon 3.0.37.1383. Loaded the plugin but cannot see the Playon server. All installations seem fine. I don't have access to a playon device to test with, so I can't see if anyother method is working. I can connect to the server using IE 7 by going to the IP address. I see all the categories/episodes, but when I try to play a file, I get a 304 permission problem:

"This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage."

I've attached the latest log.

This is very frustrating! I had a very stable system working on another machine with the same software...

Darryl

Thanks for replying, but I've actually disabled the firewall. I'm wondering if it's a security/permissions issue. I installed windows 7 ultimate this morning. Immediately installed SageTV 7, and then Playon. All installs seemed to go smoothly. I have not installed anything else but those two pieces of software

Newest verson of plugin causing the problem?

OK, more testing....

I noticed that I was using the 1.2 version of this plug-in in my "production" sage server. I upgraded to 1.4 version and BOOM! I've got the same issue. how can I rollback to the 1.2 version???

EP - any ideas?

Darryl

**** update - I stopped the Playon server, stop sage server, started playon, started sage and i'm back to Normal (with new 1.4 version of plug-in) on my old server. I'll try again on the new server next week...

New issue with Playon Plugin...

I've had some issues watching shows all the way through. I thought this was a problem with Playon - but I've discovered that I can watch the problem shows using my LG blue-ray player, or the HD200 in stand alone mode. An exmaple of a problem show would be "chowder" on the cartoon network. One of the episodes is called "Heavy Sleeper". Watching through SageTV it runs for exactly 2:37 and then stops. This happens everytime I've tried it (3 seperate occassions). when I watch with either the LG player or the HD200 in stand alone mode - I can watch the whole episode.

Any Ideas?

Cartoon network, is that a plugin?

shortcuts

With the UPnP browser is there anyway to pin shortcuts to the online services menu?

Curently I have to go:

OnlineServices->PlayOn->Browse UPnP->Tversity media server -> Internet, RSS & podcasts

What I'd really like to have is a dedicated menu item going straight there with a label of my choosing.

EP-

Yup - it's a plugin. Do you know how the total time of the video get's calculated/displayed? It seems the the videos are running for the exact length of time that gets displayed as the total video length. For example, the length of time listed for a problem episode might be 2:38 (min:sec) - which is incorrect - the actual time is really 14 minutes. The video will play exactly 2 minutes and 38 seconds and then end. When I play using another device (LG player) the video will run much longer than the 2 minutes 38 seconds shown in the sage app. It's probably a problem with the Playon Cartoon Network plug in, but I have no clue how all this works

Any ideas?

One of the missing elements of the Canadian service is there is no Queue. The only way to play something from Playon using Netflix in Canada is to browse the horrible folder structure. I need to find a way to put specific show titles into the playon menu or create a shortcut to the Netflix folder.

With the plan to merge this plugin and the importer plugin, will this affect us Canadian users with out the Queue?

Doh! - figured out my "problem" why sagetv can't see playon

The problem is I'm a dunce Loaded the queue importer instead of the UI...

Problem resolved...

Now to see why I'm still getting dumped out of cartoon network shows...

Some Netflix movies will not play

Some Netflix movies will not play. For example, "Charlie Chan: The Chinese Cat" will not play. Other movies play fine. This has been happening over a two day period. A screenshot of the error is attached. The log file is also attached. Running Playon 3.0.37.1383 and SageTV 7.0.23.246. Thanks!

Any chance it is something to do with the colon in the title? i wonder if PlayOn isn't properly escaping special characters... Any similarities such as this in the ones that aren't working?

Hmm, worked fine on my setup. I think you're running into an issue where PlayOn takes so long to start the video up that Sage times out.

Hulu Plus membership

Has anyone tried the Hulu Plus membership? Is there a substantial amount of new full episodes and TV shows that get added?

I just restarted Playon after adding Hulu Plus membership; and restarted my sageTV client. How do I know that I have Hulu Plus shows available to me? I only looked for a couple of TV shows; and, but weren't there: Dexter and Smallville. I just went to Playon/Hulu/TV Shows/D/... & Playon/Hulu/TV Shows/S/... However, neither shows are available. Do I need to reboot my computer?

I'm curious if adding Hulu Plus is a worthwhile addon in respect to the shows that are added. I never checked, but are multiple seasons supported with the Playon plugin? I know with the non-sageTV plugin version (sageTV 6.x), I wasn't able to.

Thanks in advance,
MKANET

EDIT: I still dont see any difference after rebooting. I dont see Dexter nor Smallville. I even tried browsing via TV network; but didnt see Showtime. It would be great to know if this is a reproducible problem specific to Playon. I can see Dexter on Hulu Desktop.

EDIT #2: I just found out that Hulu doesnt even have native support for Dexter/Smallville. If you use Hulu Desktop, even with a Hulu Plus membership, you're just taking to an external website; which I can already do without Hulu. I honestly think Hulu Plus is a sham; or, makes no real difference. You still end up watching commercials; and, still no native, full support for popular Top shows like Dexter. Smallville is also missing.
