Yes, I can confirm that Netflix is fully working now; along with everything else.

BTW: Can anyone confirm that the Netflix HD genre Play Now videos look any better than standard videos?

They may be a BIT clearer, as they are missing the higher level of artifactnig from the low bitrate SD stream.. but the actual resolution/bitrate from PlayOn is unchanged.

Pandora 192k support via playon

I know this is really a question for the Pandora people, but does anybody know if you can get 192k using Pandora One via the Sage/Playon plugin? The Pandora site says that the 192k streaming is limited to the PC users and not mobile and in home devices. What I am trying to figure out is do they include Playon in that list of in home devices?

I don't see a clear answer on the Pandora site.

Thanks,

--Paul

PlayOn isn't a 'home device'. As far as Pandora is concerned, it's playing to the normal Pandora web page. Playon is just recording it, recompressing it, and streming it to your DLNA client. I should definitely support he higher bitrate audio, though I'm not sure what PlayOn recompresses it at.

Trying to watch Netflix via Playon and I'm getting the error Remote Desktop Error viewing not supported.

I'm not connected via remote desktop when it gives the error.

Any ideas?

It is funny that you mention this because I *thought* that I noticed improved quality in the Netflix streaming. Previously I didn't even use the PlayOn plugin to watch Netflix because there was, to me, a HUGE hit in quality. However, a week or so ago I watched something and thought to myself that it looked a lot better than I remembered but passed it off as my imagination but have since watched several shows via this plugin. While I can still tell a difference and it isn't as good as my Blu-ray players Netflix streaming, it does seem to be better. So, if something was changed, it worked... if nothing was changed, then my standards might be getting lower. LOL

That's a PlayOn issue so you'll need to take it up with their support.

Basic rule of thumb: if you can find the content and *something* other than a Sage error shows up on the screen then its a PlayOn problem.

Tim, it looks like Playon thinks youre trying to playback Playon via RDP. Is there any chance anything you're doing might be indirectly causing this error message? For example, if you or someone else has RDP'ed into the same PC that playon is installed? There has to be something you're doing (or that you've setup) that's different than the typical playon/sageTV install; unless, your playon installation is messed up and needs to be reinstalled cleanly. Anyhow, you might want to check out the Playon forums in case none of the above apply to you.

Thanks guys.

I do rdp into the box since its a HP Media Smart server.

I don't have an active session going though when I get the error.

I'll check with Playon and see what they say.

Thanks again.

Can't See all Netflix videos

When I use the Playon plug in through STV, I don't have all the headings as when I go to Netflix on the internet directly. For example, I want to see Mad Men. There isn't a specific heading for Mad Men, so on the internet I have to go to "All TV Dramas". This heading isn't available when using Playon thru STV. Before you tell me you found it, I mean all the seasons, not just season 1 or 2 or 3, we should be able to see everything we see when using Netflix on the internet. BTW, I am using Netflix.ca, not Netflix.com.

Ok, a few problems there...
  1. PlayOn is only for streaming content only so anything that's not streaming won't even show up. Mad Men, for example, isn't available for streaming so you won't find it anywhere in PlayOn.
  2. PlayOn controls how you navigate Netflix, not me. I just make their menu structure accessible in Sage. So while this plugin has a shortcut under Online->Netflix->Browse Genres that'll get you to PlayOn's Netflix Genre browser, everything you see after that is controlled by PlayOn not me.

Even if you aren't logged into your playon server, but the last log in WAS over remote desktop and you haven't logged back in locally since then you will get this error.

If you use netflix alot your best bet is to put VMC on there and leave Remote Desktop alone.

Also make sure since it is WHS that you can bring up the browser and Netflix streaming works correctly from there. (Log in and all. Video you probably won't see over RDP) Make sure everything works correctly on there before trying Playon thru Sage. I believe you'll need Silverlight installed on the WHS. I actually took PlayOn off the WHS and put it on a seperate, more powerful PC on the network.

First, thanks for the info, now I know a little better how Playon and STV work together. Not sure what you mean when you say Mad Men is not available for streaming when I can watch it on Netflix no problem (remember I'm in Canada). But I will be contacting Playon regarding their browser limitations now I know where to point the finger (not that I was pointing at you).

James,

I logged onto netflix.ca through browser, and did a search for Mad Men. It shows me that Season 1, 2 & 3 are available, but Season 4 isn't..

My point is, try to find season 1, 2, or 3 using Playon with STV. If you're lucky you'll find them in the New Arrivals section, but it's hit and miss at best - you will NOT find them in TV Dramas, which is where you WILL find them on Netflix.ca. Obviously if it isn't available on Netflix.ca (season 4) I wouldn't expect to see it with Playon.

Really the the only Netflix I use through PlayOn is the Queue. Their software just isn't optimized for exploring.

I'm a little confused about what this support thread is for.
If I understand correctly, there are two plugins,
1 - PlayOn for SageTV: STVI
2 - PlayOn for SageTV: Netflix/Hulu Queue Importer

Am i correct to assume that #1 just enables you to browse PlayOn under Sage's Online menu?

For #2, this actually integrates your PlayOn content with your Videos menu in PlayOn, correct?
So my question is, how can I configure what centent is integrated. Does it only do the Netflix/Hulu queues, or can it be configured to add other content, for example full episodes of the Daily Show under PlayOn's "Comedy Central" menu.

Thanks for the help and please correct me if I made any wrong assumptions.

I posted a similiar question about importing Comedy Central full episodes here (with log file) http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...&postcount=200 but that thread has been pretty quiet, so I'm trying here
