Not sure if this maybe got overlooked. here is my original post from a few days back:

"Anyone seeing strange issues with NetFlix and this plugin? I keep getting a "internet connection issue. try again later, or contact netflix support"

I have seen this once before, but now I can't access netflix at all..

~Pix64"

Wifey is getting upset with me because NETFLIX isn't working. I recently changed the Sage Service user, and the user that logs into the sage server, but they both match exactly password and all... Any ideas???

I just pulled the trigger and paid $40 for the lifetime "charter member" subscription. I hope it ends up being worth it.

Sorry I missed you, it's been a busy week!

Any case where you get some type of playback (i.e. - Sage buffers media w/o errors, switches to media OSD, and timebar starts filling up) is 100% a PlayOn issue and you'll need to contact their support.

Audio plays w/o video

I just upgraded to V7(however this problem has been around since V6 for me).
When starting a video the audio portion will start to play while Sage says it is buffering the stream. Video never comes up - just stays put on current menu. Any idea why this is going on?

I think i've seen that once, but wasn't able to collect any data on it. Its definitely a Sage bug so if you're able to reproduce it consistently do the following.

1) Enable debugging in Sage Settings (I think its under advanced).
2) Shutdown/Restart Sage (including the Sage Service if you're running that way)
3) Go straight to a PlayOn video and duplicate the issue
4) Shut down sage fully again and copy the sagetv_0.txt log to a safe place.
5) Submit a bug to Sage, and when they email you, send them that log.

Question How do I change the recording directory?

Hi all,

I HOPE this is the right place to ask this question.

Up until recently, when I was watching a NetFlix movie streamed through PlayOn, and I let it run its course all the way to the end, I was able to hit my Record button on my remote and save the movie for later viewing (WOOHOO!).

That is .. until today .. when I deleted the folder that it was recording to (oops) and when I hit record its pathname is so long I can't see what it was called or reconstruct it (it was a subfolder of a subfolder, that's what I get for trying to be neat and tidy).

I'd flat out like to change where it records, but for some dumb reason, I can't find the setting or the section ..?

I've looked in Setup > Detailed > General and Setup > Detailed > Customize. I've even poked around in the Plugins section, and tried to Configure Plugin but there are no directories to change.

An older version of SageTV allowed me to go in and change Temp directories and such, but as of my most recent SageTV v7.0.15 that submenu seems to have been moved or removed?

I guess my main problem is, I don't know WHICH section I should be looking in. Something, somewhere, is saving an FLV file, but is this SageTV's PlayOn plugin, or something to do with PlayOn itself? I'm even feeling bold enough to go in manually to change in one of the Properties files, but I did a search and can't find the pathname or its derivative anywhere.

I don't mind that the directory is lost. I just can't for the life of me figure out how to reassign to a new one, which menu option or plugin it could be?

Feel free to have me copy-paste-repost to a different Support section, but I thought since it was a PlayOn-Netflix related item, I'd start here ...

Thanks so much for your help, everyone!

Playon uses sagetv's online videos settings to store the files temporarily. You will need to change the temp directory for online videos.

Pandora Channel

So I get the minimize to desktop when playing Pandora, too (in addition to Hulu and Netflix).

Anyway, my question is, there is no way of making the Pandora screen "interactive" as opposed to just a screen scrape and dump is there? I would really like to assign songs a "thumb up" or "thumb down" if I like/dislike the particular song. I really don't think it's possible because I'm 99% sure this is a PlayOn screen scrape and not anything to do with Sage.

Thank you for the quick reply.

While I can wrap my head around what you wrote, when I look in the settings for "Configure Settings for Online Videos," it says "Temporary File Storage Location" is "Default System Temp Path," which, God knows where that is. It looks to be on my main system drive in a temp folder, but there is very little space there and I usually offload any video files to my external.

Update: Just uninstalled all my other active plugins, and .. it is saving again! BUT -- it seems to have put the FLV it (successfully!) into a Movies folder on my main drive, which is not where I want it.

I looked through my video recording directories and I see that I asked SageTV to forbid recording to my main system drive, so why would it do that? Did I find a program bug?

No, That's just how PlayOn works. It writes what it records/captures to a temporary file on the system drive, and directly the connected client (SageTV in this case) to that file.

I'm still trying to fix this as well. can you try the following:
- Go to the SageOnlineServicesEXEs directory
- Make sure UPnPBrowser.out has execute permission.
- run "./UPnPBrowser /preset CBS" and tell me what is displayed.

I'm interested in seeing if you get the same results as I do, see my previous posts on this issue.

I've been seeing what appears to be a repeatable behavior where the "buffering" line comes up, and then the audio starts, but the blank screen with the buffering line is still there. This seems to go for about 15 seconds, and then the video comes on, 15 seconds into it. I can hit a jump back button and restart from the beginning, and it's fine.

When I watch highlight clips from ESPN.com, it works out well because they all have a 15-second commercial at the beginning... so I hear the commercial, and then the video comes on just in time, as the actual clip starts. But on other streams where there is no commercial, I have to back up the clip as described above.

Anyone else seen this?

This is how my system has worked for months. I thought it was normal behavior of playon.

I just upgraded to Sage v7 and I'm having a hard time getting this plugin working. This is my first attempt at using the new plugin manager in v7, so I'm guessing I did something wrong.

PlayOn is installed and working on my workstation (ie, NOT my Sage server). I know its working because my iPad can stream off of it. I installed the PlayOn plugin from one of my extenders. After installing the plugin I went into the configuration and forced an update. However, I still don't get any PlayOn/Netflix/Hulu menu options under the Online tab.

I do have a a cache file showing up in the SageOnlineServicesEXEs/UPnPBrower folder. And, I see a PlayOn folder there too with a movies and TV folder. Those folders seem to have my Netflix queue in them.

I've attached my UPnPBrowser log file, but I'm guessing that's not where the problem is.

You installed the PlayOn: Queue Importer from the Standard plugin tab, you'll want to install the PlayOn: STVi from the UI Mod plugin tab. Sorry for the confusion, the Plugin Repository menu is great, but currently its a bit of a mess organization wise.
