I take that back, I'm also noticing some strange things where certain shortcuts are dumping me in strange placed. Looks like a PlayOn issue, i'll follow up with them.

Tried uninstalling Playon, and reinstall, stopped sageTV service and it's still not working. I downloaded the previous version that mbowling linked and it is working again.

FYI, the abc/nbc/etc. links are still not working correctly. Maybe these have been broken a long time. I've only been using netflix lately.

You are a life saver! I reverted back to the version you linked and everything is working again.

The only one not working for me is USA (dumps me to network list). All of the others are working fine I sent a log to PlayOn, we'll see what they find.

PlayOn say's Hulu changed some stuff on their end and they're still sorting though the issues. Hopefully it'll work itself out soon enough.

On the plus side, this might actually be the cause of that weird issue people are seeing where sometimes the queue importer accidentally imports random content.

Sage Minimizes

Has there been a fix for when you use PlayOn (Netflix) and during the first few seconds of buffering, Sage becomes minimized and I'm dumped to my Windows desktop?

Wow, never heard that one before. Does it do that for Hulu also or just Netflix?

Hey I get this all the time. I use hulu and it does it the first time I go to watch something. After that it is fine. It gets annoying but never bothered to post but now I see someone else have the same thing happen.

Sound like something wired is happening when playon launches it's hidden IE window. Go ahead and open up IE and make sure that it's up to date (IE8, not the new IE9 beta) and that Flash and Silverlight are updated also. Then try loading up Hulu and Netflix videos and see if any of them throw warnings or notification that could be stealing focus from Sage.

I have seen this once before, but now I can't access netflix at all..

I'm trying to sort out how to get this to run under linux. I've read through the pertinent posts but still don't quite understand. Can somebody shed some light on this for me?

I'm running a Ubuntu sage server.

Minimizes Wooes

Yeah, this minimizing behavior happens for me each time I start a new streaming video but only on Hulu and Netflix.

What I do to get around it is when it dumps me to the desktop I hit the "full screen" button twice on my remote and it brings me back into Sage.

The only special requirment for linux is that you'll either need a VM on the linux server running Windows/PlayOn or a separate box running Windows/PlayOn. After that you just install the plug-in as normal.

I have PlayOn installed on another Windows box on the network but it's not working. A soon as I select an item I get "the list was empty". (Going from memory on that error message.) Does UPnPBrowser.exe run natively on linux or does that get executed on the same box (Windows) that runs PlayOn?

I've had a similar problem for the last 3 days. When I try and access Play-On via the SageTV plug in I get a message "The External Feed Was Empty" I know Play On is running and working because I can access the videos directly on my computer network from outside of SageTV.

Does anyone have any idea of what's going on or how I can fix it. Until recently, the plug-in was working fine. Thanks.

Edit - The problem is resolved. I don't know what happened but something must have corrupted one or more of the files on my server. As a test, I restored the SageOnlineServicesEXEs folder from an earlier backup when everything was working and and the Plug in immediately started working again.

Ok I updated flash. Silverlight was current. Running IE8. Still minimized

Here's the log file in case it may have something in there.

I also am current on all my plug-ins (Flash, Silverlight) and current with IE8. When watching Hulu or Netflix from the IE8 browser itself all is fine - no minimizing or error messages and nothing noteworthy on the statusbar of IE. It just happens in Sage. When I connect to the PlayOn UPNP service from my networked Samsung TV, there are no problems.

I still can't get this working on my linux box. I get "the external feed was empty" dialog.

I did find one problem, UPnPBrowser.out did not have execute permission. I changed that and it still failed. I looked at the Sage log and I saw the command it was trying to run, "UPnPBrowser.out /preset CBS" so I tried running that from the command line to see what would happen. Here is the output:

Code:
IO object version 1.25 does not match bootstrap parameter 1.23_01 at /usr/lib/perl/5.10/DynaLoader.pm line 219.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/lib/perl/5.10/IO/Handle.pm line 9.

BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/lib/perl/5.10/IO/File.pm line 11.

I have no idea what this error message means, can somebody help?

Edit: Wiped my linux server clean and did a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.4. Same result.
