Is there a way to manually install this plugin?

I went through the uninstall in the plugin mgr because I can’t get anything to play... I can play in standalone mode on the HD200 though. So it seems that PlayOn is working... After the uninstall process I noticed that the folder: ...\SageTV\SageOnlineServicesEXEs\
still had files pertaining to this STVI. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to delete them manually and when I re-installed through the plugin manager that the files would be replaced and everything would maybe start working again. Not the case however.

Now I get the message that the external feed is empty and there are no files in that folder.

Please help, I messed it up.

Thanks!

Is there any way to have this show "Persons Unknown" above static or have a separate folder for each program.
Is there any way to get the show name to also appear in the Hulu user queue. The wife will not use this because she can't figure out which show is which.

EP, ya gotta help me, man! That ESPN issue (with the commercials) is killing me! My MLB team's playing out west (late games, past my bedtime), and I try to check on the highlights the next morning, and the clip is like 21 seconds long, but the first 15 seconds are a commercial... they barely get the names of the two teams out and it ends!

Can you issue a quick patch for that?

Thank you. I will let you know what the wife thinks when it is released. It is so nice not having to deal with the evil cable company anymore.

Actually, I'm saying all I had installed was the UPnP browser plugin that *I* installed, and not the PlayOn plugin Your post cleared that up for me (but in my defense I didnt see a separate PlayOn plugin before I upgraded from 1.0)

Thanks for helping me figure this out!

Anyone know if the Sage Artifact Delete cleans up after the files left over from watching online videos? I noticed I had a lot of files in my temp directory and am looking for something that will automatically clean those up

No, SAD won't do it (because they're not associated with TV recordings).

But you can easily configure Sage to put those temp files in a directory of your choice, and set up a Windows scheduled task to delete the contents of that directory every night.

I vaguely mentioned this a while ago, but I confirmed it last night when my wife was watching some music videos on the MTV PlayOn plugin... every time you watch a video, it opens a web browser on your server, playing that video as well. This wouldn't be a problem (too much), except that it remains open after you stop it in Sage, playing a continual string of "similar" videos). And the next video you watch opens a separate browser instance. So if you watch a bunch of videos, you get a bunch of browsers open on your server, and eventually the performance suffers (CPU, network, etc.)

Is this a Sage issue or a PlayOn issue?

Is that in the Sage.Properties file? I'll have to set that up then.

Thanks.

Hey Guys,

I'm having an issue where when I attempt to play anything via HD200 extender, it adjust the aspect and the extender locks up. The green and red lights are both on but there is not display on the TV and if I hit the power button on the remote, the extender will not respond. Only way to get it to respond again is to unplug it.

I haven't used playon in about a month or so I don't know when this issue actually started. This issue only happens when I try to use anything via playon. If I use youtube it is fine.

Since this is locking up the extender, I'm not sure where to start diagnosing this.

SageTV server Version 7.0.15.5, file set 2010082001
Extender version 20100811-0

I'm having an issue with Netflix. I'm sure it's not a plugin issue, it's probably something inherant to Playon or Netflix itself. Just want to figure out where the problem is and if there's an easier work around.
Let's say I put a movie in my Netflix queue. Load it up in Sage and watch the first 10 minutes. If I come back later, and want to watch the whole thing from the beginning, it won't. It's missing the first 10 minutes. Still says 00:00 for the time code, but it now thinks the point where I stopped watching it is the beginning of the movie.
I have to go, remove it from my queue, and re add it. I'm assuming it's because Netflix keeps track of how much you've watched?

That is correct. Netflix does track how much you have watched and continues from where you left off.

Error -2, arrrrrgggghhhh

I had your plugin working like a charm under sage 6. Recently, I decided to install it again on my server with sage 7 (Windows XP Home SP3). Oddly enough it works fine with all the Comedy Central feeds. With all other Hulu feeds (NBC, Fox, USA, etc.), I get the dreaded "Error -2 Files selected for playback are no longer on disk". I can see that the plugin is creating the FLV file. I am running sage as a service.

I have searched high and low on this forum and have discovered that Error -2 is a file permission problem. I have tried all the suggestions in other postings to no avail. I have tried:
-running the service on the administrator account and not the local system
-choosing a shared folder instead of a temp folder
-choosing another disk other than the one with the operating system
-uninstalling and reinstalling this plugin
-all of this with multiple reboots

I have noticed that when I run sage client on the server machine, then the plugin works fine.

Clearly the problem is with any placeshifter or client using the plugin.

Any ideas how to get around this file access problem?

I'm not quite clear on your setup...

1) Did you install PlayOn STVi through the v7 plug-in system?
2) Is it enabled on the server, client, and your extender/placeshifter clients (you may need to enable it on each client individually)
3) Are you getting to the plug-in though the Online Services Menu (like in v6) or using the new flyout menus
4) Oh yeah, one more thing: LOG!

Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Yes, the PlayOn STVi was installed via the new plugin system.
2. It is enabled on all: server, mvps, and placeshifters.
3. All of them are giving me the new flyout online menus.
4. Here is the log.

Thanks!

Got it ...

I needed to go into Pandora and update profile account

..Reacting to privacy criticism over its Facebook integration and little-known public profiles, the popular online radio service Pandora is now prompting all users of its website to decide whether to keep their profile public or make it private.
