DXVA problems with 2.0.17
Ver 2.0.17 is the first one that has caused me video problems in a very long time. The video almost seems to have an interlacing problem, but it's much worse -- almost as if it jumps back and forth 5 frames or something. The 3 things that help are 1) using DX9 instead of overlay, 2) setting DXVA deinterlace mode to Weave from within Sage or 3) turning off DXVA in the registry for Intervideo decoder. Each of these "solutions" come with an unacceptable cost in video quality from what I'm used to, though.
In all the previous versions, I've been very successful with the following setup: --PVR250 --Nvidia MX440SE video card to TV out via s-video --overlay renderer --Hauppage/Intervideo codecs with registry tweaks for hardware acceleration --All Sage DXVA settings to default Something must have changed in the way Sage uses DXVA?? When I go back to 2.0.16, all is good again (but it has the 5-minute stutter problem, of course). Also, Zoomplayer works perfectly with the same video file that causes problems in Sage 2.0.17. Anyone else seeing similar problems? Any suggestions? |

Yes, I had this problem upon upgrade to version 2.0.17. I am using the Hauppauge/Intervideo codecs with an Nvidia MX220 in overlay mode. I had to edit the registry to turn of the DXVA. After that video ran smoothly again. I also experimented with the Cinemaster decoder, and also had to turn off DXVA via its control panel applet in order to get smooth video. Unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions on how to keep DXVA and get smooth video playback with version 2.0.17.
