When they tune seperately you'll know that they are using different files. I know of no other way to be sure.

My DirTV001.ir file starts out like this:
DirTV001 0 0 0 200 200 Enter
0 Z1 0000 .....
1 Z1 0000 .....

My DirTV002.ir file starts out like this:
DirTV002 0 0 0 200 200 Enter
0 Z2 0000 .....
1 Z2 0000 .....

Right. But they all will blink at the same time if you don't have the Z1, Z2 etc. in the files.

Corrections/edits you make to the .ir files will not be reloaded into memory until you restart sage.

After you are sure your .ir files are right, if you still have trouble you may have bought the wrong Y adapter.

The adapter should be male L/R Stereo to female L Mono and female R mono, NOT a Stereo Y adapter.

While I experienced lockups occasionally (1-2 times a week) with v6, the upgrade to v7 definitely help me. I've had maybe 3 lockups in about a month and a half now, and I think 1 of those was when I was trying to get Placeshifter going (seems others attributed a lockup to this one after v7 release). The other 2 lockups I'm going to attribute to dirty power since 1 occurred during a power blip and the other during some very bad weather with a lot of lightning strikes nearby.

- running (2) E1 version HDPVR's with 1.5.6.1 drivers
- Sage v7.0.11
- HD PVR's laying on their sides on top of my stacked DTV H20 HD boxes
- IR ports tapped over
- using USB cables that came with HDPVR's connected directly to WHS PC USB ports on motherboard
- using digital audio (SPDIF) and digital component video from HDPVR's to DTV boxes since I installed the HDPVR's.
- using DirectvSerialControl with Patterson Tech adapters for channel changing.
- setting for video recording is at "great" (tried "best" a few times in the past and feel it may have increased lockup frequency). Haven't tried to go back to "best" setting yet since moving to v7
- have DTV receivers locked at 720p (only did this in an effort to get Placeshifter going)

My 2 cents on all of this, after reading so many threads on HDPVR stability, is that those using the IR port (not tapped over with black tape) on the HDPVR seem to report more lockups.

Correct - Zone 1 & 2 are the plug in the back. But the plug requires a male stereo plug and two female mono plugs to work right.

Check out this picture.

It is possible that you got a stereo splitter (male stereo plug and two female stereo plugs) which is the wrong adapter.

No I didn't get a stereo splitter. The two female plugs are different colors indicated a left and right sides. What is different is I have NO space between the Z1 and the first portion of IR code. For example my second line of the file is this:

0 Z10000 006B 0000 000A 0073 002F 002E 002F 0017 0018 0017 0018 0017 002F 0017 0018 0017 002F 0017 002F 002E 0018 0017 0482

In the thread I read I could have sworn it said not to leave a space between the Z1 and the 0000 ?

Thanks,

Neil

I beleive that both ways work, but I have always used a space after the Z1 or Z2 etc and mine do work.

Why don't you post both of your .ir files and let us look at them?

Added spaces and it doesn't work at all... Changing back now.

Disregard it did tune after the fact but still changing on both boxes. Boxes have IR emitters right over top of receivers with black tape on top of them. No leakage here.

Ok I plead stupid.

So I looked at the hardware again and I was using dual headed emitters! anyway I was using the emitter from ONE of the zones to both boxes. I know I am really really stupid.

Sorry!!!

And it works! Hallelujah! sometimes it is the most obvious stuff in the world

Now I need to order another PVR and add a third. Then we can see how crazy I can make myself!

Update to this post.....

Any just when you start bragging about something good, the HDPVR makes you look like a fool. Had another lockup last night and this time, no power blip, no storm, nothing I can attribute to cause this one.

The more I read about HD pvr issues the more I think it is relatedmto USB traffic. Do you have any other USB devices in use?

It's like playing whack-a-mole!

I've done everything but the last two dreaded suggestions (cost $): get a completely separate, high-perf USB card (currently I have an IR receiver as the only other USB device) and switch to the USB-UIRT.

However, the only lockup I've had in 10+ days has been heat related so.... I'm waiting out this heat wave to see how long I can go

Well, since Venus is so much closer to the sun, might be quite a wait to get past the heat wave

LOL!

I live in Portland, OR and we're nearing record-setting temps; mostly we don't need A/C so the HTPC/HD-PVR is in a relatively cool room but it heats about an hour or two before sunset and doesn't cool down as fast as I would like

(I forgot about that setting, hahahahaha )

Wouldn't survive here (well actually could but not comfortably) without A/C.
Mid/Upper 70s at 7am, upper 90s-100s highs.

But at least better than when I lived in SW Georgia with the gnats in addition to the heat/humidity.

So I was watching one channel for a while and switched to a different one. The HD200 just had the circle of death. I turned the box off and back on and go to the menu and when I attempted to go to the guide it wouldn't work. So I restarted the service but it couldn't stop the service. This has happened several times to me with v7. I have tried taskkill.exe which says it kills the process ID but it didn't. I still see it in Task Manager. I am going to have to go upstairs and reboot the machine by holding the power button! Pretty crazy! This is definitely not prime time ready my our standards. I was almost ready to collect all our tv providers STB's and put them in the room for sage. Not now

Well, there are reasons I live in NW Oregon and they're not (supposed to be) for the 95+ temperatures
