I am also running sage on a win7 x64 system, but haven't seen any issues. Have you turned debug logging on and checked the log? The module puts out alot of messages.
Thanks, Jeff |

Ok, gone again... Forth Time. Here's what happened.
Went in and added four new ones in the following order dl-title-Dex Hamilton dl-title-Dex Hamilton-favk-science dl-Category-Shopping dl-Category-Shopping-favk-science then based on the troubles I figured I would shut down and save the file. So I did. When I started SageTV they were all gone. So. I shut down again. Hopping I didn't save an already empty file I checked the size.... it was small... "A Text file" I thought so I opened it in note pad and interesting enough all the items were there except dl-Category-Shopping and it looks like it had been sorted with dl-Category-Shopping-favk-science at the top. So I added the missing one copied it back to the sagetv directory and poof they were all back. This seems soooo goofy? scratching my head to see a pattern here. Any idea? is there a heaver logging mode? |

I'm wondering if it's a UAC issue, but I haven't got a Win 7 machine to play with.

I'm not sure where that is. I've checked the plugin setup.

Depending on if it is the server or client, it would be in the Sage.properties/SageClient.properties file a setting called :
debug_logging=false Just shutdown sage and change that setting to true. I think the setting is also in the Sage Setup menu under Server at the bottom. Once you enable that, check the log in the base sage folder sagetv_0.txt and you can see what sage is doing, and that plugin logs to that file also.. Thanks, Jeff |

Well, since I added the debug logging I've never had a problem. Hummmm....

That is good to hear... Actually, I have my debug logging on all the time, you can get a better idea of what is happening when you have a problem if you see how it normally runs..
Thanks, Jeff |

Is there a way to backup the list of items entered to a file? I periodically take images of the SageTV computer. I would like to backup the file that contains the list of items more frequently. Then when I need to recover, I can then recover the computer with the image, then load in the backed up file. I don't see a way to import a saved file in the favorite excluder menu.

The definitions are stored in a file "excluder.def" in the base sage directory. it is just a text file, so you can copy it and if you restore, just shutdown the client/server restore the file and restart....
Thanks, Jeff |

Thanks for the info! I will backup that file more frequently than my periodic images.

I record a few FX shows and most of them have a three minute replay.
How would I use this to stop all three minute replays from being recorded without setting up an excluding favorite for every FX show?

I'm glad you found the problem with the disappearing excluder.def content. Way to go man. Thanks big time. |

Hi all,
Is there a way to use this plugin in a SageTV Client environment where you can add an exclusion rule at any PC (Server or Client(s)) and all the rules will be displayed on all the Sage PCs? At the moment, the Excluder seems to be working (which is great!), but I can only see the exclusion rule on whatever PC I used to add it Thanks |

Where all the machine have access to \\server\share, you could try setting
plugins/df/favorite_excluder/file_dir=\\server\share in all the properties files Sage.properties SageClient.properties It may work. John |

Thanks for the reply.
Does it matter which shared folder I use? And do I need to keep the period ( . ) at the end of the line (is it "...//server/share" or "...//server/share.") |

No period. Probably should be \\\\server\\share

I've added that line to the properties file on the server and the client, pointing to the Recordings share on the server that both PCs have access to, and now it seems the excluder doesn't work at all, it's not scanning every hour anymore...?

Category exclusion
Some are straight forward but I question others...
Like MOVIE/ROMATIC COMEDY - release year Is a exclusion need for every year if you don't want any Romantic/Comedy movies? |

Can I use this to cause a favorite not to run for the months May-October? If so what is the syntax to do this?
