I uninstalled BMT Web Interface, Sage Mobile, and Sage Web and then installed Sage Mobile, restarted Sage, installed BMT Web and then Sage Web and all is working again.

Okay, I'm really feeling left-out here.

I am using Sage7 and have never been able to get Jetty going.

I tried using the Wiki first, but the TROUBLESHOOTING link is broken (how ironic huh?).

Anyways I've just read through all 9 pages of this post trying every suggestion to no avail. My Sage Plugins page says that Jetty 2.2.0.9 is installed and enabled. I have just removed all the other apps that had dependencies on Jetty and tried re-installing the plugin to no avail.

When I type in http://localhost:8080/apps I get "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to localhost:8080" IE says "The webpage cannot be displayed". There is no message at the bottom indicating Jetty is even running.

I've tried changing the port number - no difference
I've tried removing Diamond Theme - no difference
I've tried using ip address - no difference
I've tried looking for sagetv_0.txt - can't locate it
Tried accessing via another computer on local network - no difference.

So, please help me troubleshoot this. I am not a Windows power-user, but I'm not a nim-null either. I don't have lots of time to devote which is why I've been trying to figure this out for the past 5 months. I'm just at the end of self-help options here.

Anyone have some suggestions for me?

My first thought was that you already have something else running on port 8080 but you said you changed the port. Did you try restarting Jetty (from the plugin's configuration page) and/or Sage after changing the value?

See this FAQ entry for info on how to enable Sage's debug logging so it creates sagetv_0.txt. Also go to Jetty's plugin configuration in Sage and change the log level to VERBOSE. This will increase the amount of logging that Jetty does and should help us find out why it's failing to start.

When those are both configured, restart Sage one more time so you get a cleaner log.

Yes, after EVERY change, I would restart Jetty.

I set Jetty to VERBOSE logging and enabled debug-logging for Sage and have attached the log.

After all was said and done, I restarted and even tried shuffling the ports. No change.

I had a separate thread going on this as well. Jetty Web Server 2.0 does not work on the host server or intra-Lan for me either.

Tried all the resets, defaults, re-installs, you name it. Intra-Lan I use static IP's for all my cpu's. Clients and extender works great with Server 7.

Too bad, because it worked for a while under Sage 7 and great under Sage 6, and is a great utility.

Not that misery loves company, but I can see by the posts in this thread that people way more competent with Java (about anyone BUT me !!) are having problems all similar to mine.

Looking forward to someone solving this, because this is sure a great utility to have when it works.

I noticed there are 2 JARs\h2-1.2.*.jar files in your classpath. Can you do a directory listing of your JARs folder and post it (please include timestamp and file size of the files)? Also could you post your filetracker.properties file? That's the file Sage uses to track what is installed when a plugin is installed.

I had problems with jetty not working with BMT - Turns out I needed to turn off the sage services with the sagetvservicecontrol.exe file and then turn it back on to get it working rather then trying to restart the server.

A reboot probably would have done the same thing as well thought.

My webservers (mobile & desktop) stopped working about a week ago. This is what I get:

I can't see anything in the attached log file and don't know what to do next. Any ideas?

Here is the filetracker.properties file (I had to add the .txt extender on it so I could upload it).

Also, I couldn't figure out how to list the directories in a text file, so I ended up taking snapshots of the JARs folder contents.

There's a new thread about problems installing jars and it looks like you're having the same problem. Take a look at post #15 for a possible workaround.

I AM running my SageTV as a service, however, I'm using an HD200 and HD300 for my clients. Throughout this troubleshooting period, there has not been a client running on the server.

This looks like a Sage bug that I can't fix myself.

I'd suggest following that thread and even adding your own comments there to let others know about your issue. I doubt you're the only one. Another user just posted in #18 that he's never used the service so this may be happening in more than one scenario.

It would also help to enter a bug so Sage is aware of your scenario and can fix your problem as well. With the files you posted here (as well as stagedrenames.txt and stageddeletes.txt) they'd have a good chance of tracking it down.

Thanks,
Jason

It's not just you. For some reason there's nothing in the log about Jetty. I've seen this a handful of times but I can't reproduce it. I have a theory but I don't want to lay blame anywhere so I'll leave it at that

I'm going to try a change to the logging and release it in a minor update, but I can't do much right now because SourceForge.net, where my source and downloads are located, was the target of an attack and has been down for a week. Until they're up I can't do much.

Hi,
I installed this and having issues.
I config jetty web server but cannot connect locally.

I saw above post about having the following
JettyWebServer 2.2.0.9
MediaStreamingServices 1.1.2.43
SageTVMobileWebInterface 2.0.0.40
SageTVWebInterace 2.28

I have those now but had to mannually install one or two of them. They did not seem to install first time. I did remove them all and try a clean install.

I see above talk about The directory:
C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\jetty\webapps

Have never seen that folder, even after setting log to verbose.

Not sure where to look next.

Ipad gives 'cannot open page' error.

You don't want to install anything manually. You'll probably run into other problems in the future so let's try to get everything installed using the plugin manager. But first, do these steps to get the troubleshooting started.
  1. Enable SageTV debug logging
  2. Uninstall the plugins
  3. Follow any prompts to restart SageTV
  4. Shut down SageTV
  5. Print directory listings of the JARs and Jetty folders ('>' overwrites the output file if it exists, '>>' appends to it). The text file doesn't have to be in C:\, you could put it somewhere else.
    Code:
    C:\>dir "c:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\JARs" /s > c:\dirs1.txt

    C:\>dir "c:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\Jetty" /s >> c:\dirs1.txt
  6. Start SageTV
  7. Install only the Jetty plugin
  8. Follow any prompts to restart SageTV
  9. After SageTV restarts, go to the Jetty Web Server plugin, click on it, click Configure on the menu that pops up, then change the log level to "VERBOSE"
  10. Shut down SageTV
  11. Print directory listings of the JARs and Jetty folders again (note the different output filenames!)
    Code:
    C:\>dir "c:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\JARs" /s > c:\dirs2.txt

    C:\>dir "c:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\Jetty" /s >> c:\dirs2.txt
  12. Start SageTV, then shut it down (to get the sagetv_0.txt log of Sage and Jetty starting up)
  13. Post the dirs1.txt, dirs2.txt, and sagetv_0.txt files
Hopefully that's all clear. Feel free to ask for clarification.

I have followed your instructions and created and attached the files. I looked at them but don't really know what to look for. From the sagetv_0.txt file it appears to me that jetty is loading, but I am still not getting anything. I am hoping you will see something. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I did what you said but have no Jetty folder at all. Before or after adding only Jetty.
Nothing at...
