SageTV v7 Beta (win7 64 Bit)
When I try to install the Sagetv v7 (beta), on to my Win 7 Premium Home 64-bit
it keeps putting it in the 32bit section of program Files (x86).. I have even tried to change the folder manually and on the next screen, right back to 32-bit.. Dell 546 AMD Athlon II x4 (630) 6gb ram ATI 3200HD Video Hauppauge 2250 Anyone else have this happen.. ?? ps: also having issues with the Hauppauge 2250 Tv Tuner. Might be because of the OS issue also... |

That's where SageTV installs, in the x86 directory. I'm running the client on a Win7 Pro 64 bit and Sage runs fine where it's installed.

But now the issue with the Hauppague 2250.. |

I know that in version 6 it was recommended that we not install in the default directory but instead in something like C:SageTv.
Is this still recommended? |

This is expected. 32 bit apps should install into program files (x86), whereas 64 bit apps should go into program files.

That's why I asked...
It says Sagetv is 64-bit compatible, but yet installs in 32-bit folder.. (weird). |

nothing weird about it. SageTV is 64-bit compatible, but is not a 64-bit program. Since it is a 32-bit program, it installis in the (x86) folder.

I think you are thinking of the 250/500 issue.

Yes, the 4GB memory limitation only applies to the older Hauppuage products (PVR150, 250, 350, 500), not the newer products such as HVR2250.

I remember reading that the installation now automatically modifies the permissions on the folder. Considering I've been able to modify those program directories by installing plugins, I'm assuming that the recommendation to install to a different folder no longer applies. But someone more knowledgeable should probably confirm if possible.
