remote issue: using a button for 2 functions

I'm using the USBIRT option as the IR receiver for SageTV (among other things). Currently, I'm using the Hauppauge remote.
I went through the teaching in SageTV.
However I can't get the up/down buttons to work.
Basically the buttons are needed for up/down in the main menu, guide, and channel +/-. However I get only one function to work.
I disabled the check feature for using the same button twice. Still nothing. Depending on waht I teach I get sometimes the issue that the scroll in the guide jumps pages.
Any ideas?
Does all the teaching info go into a file? If so has anyone a complete file for USBIRT/Hauppauge remote?

Which right/left/up/down commands are you using? The individual commands #1-4, or the ones for commands #50-53, where they are shared with vol+/vol-/chan+/chan-, respectively?

You only need to use one set of arrow commands; since those buttons need to share the commands, use the ones built-in as shared.

Which ones should I use in Sage? No channel up and down?

How about the assignments at the end of the list. For example there are additional ones for power on, power off in addition to the previous power assignment?

Since you are using the Hauppauge remote with its limited number of buttons, I would use commands #50-53, where the arrow commands are shared with vol+/vol-/chan+/chan-. As for all the remainig commands, that's essentially up to you to configure it in a way that makes you comfortable.
