How are plugin updates handled?

In the new Plugin Manager, how do we handle updates to plugins we currently have installed? Will there be a message in the System Messages when an update is available? Also, if there is an update, do we need to uninstall the old version via the Plugin Manager, or just install it over the top of our current one? In the Plugin Manager, will all versions be listed, or just the latest build?

Nevermind, I see it tells you when an update is available when you view your installed plugins. Would be nice if it had a System Message as well.

The plugin manager uninstalls the old version automatically in the case of an upgrade.

When a new version of plugin is submitted, it replaces the old version in the repository. So you'll see only the newest versions in the plugin manager.
