But this:

Looks much better than this:

Did something change? What happened to the pink? FWIW I like the first one a lot better and it takes care of the only "gripe" I thought I would have with the EPG.

I think the pink (more purple to me :-) ) is just Sage's indication that those are movies.

iBrent usually chooses the WORST screen shots for his blog. We need to have an intervention .

The first screen shot above is more representative (to me at least) of what the new UI looks like on a widescreen TV.

So all I have to do is
a) delete all channels that may show a movie, or
b) hack the Zap2it listings to change all movies to non-movies, or
c) install a "pink" filter on my TV

There's a line in Sage.properties that can change pink to some other color OR no color at all. That's probably your best bet.

Like you, I 've been using sagetv for a while. I don't think anybody's needs are met 100%.

I decided that I cannot find anythink with a better fit.

I think criticism/complaints are not correct words and people who are criticising/complaining in negative overtones usually can't get their message across. There's no point saying that I don't like something unless I am prepared to explain the impact it has on me and what I suggest should be done to improve my experience with SageTV.

Feedback is very usefull and SageTV is where it is today because the SageTV people have listened to the feedback and managed to understand what it is that most people want.

Just my 2cents.

I agree with your statement and I wasn't taking direct firing at you. I am just pointing out that some people always gripe/moan about things instead of enjoying it with it's shortcomings.

There's no such thing as a complaint/criticism. They are "opportunities". lol

That's what I though when I looked at his pics.

My shot is a scrprnt from Placeshifter.

Through the UI there is a section under Help "View TV Category Colors" where the user can associate colors with each EPG Show Category. This was in since V5.

Obviously Brent has purple as the color for Movies.

I found the colors distracting and removed them.

Wow, I've never gone into the Help menu, didn't know there was actually something useful there

Guess I'm a geek because I like lots of info on my screen. The screen is big, why not use it?

Getting rid of the dreaded pause between shows will finally let me install an HD200 on my husband's office TV. HAF should be high.

Okay you're officially the only person i have ever seen on any HTPC board use a HAF. I bow to your uniqueness.

...

Changing those dreaded colors will be the first thing I do.

That's because you were too busy fidling with SageTV than using it.

BTW in what state is the Serenity theme?

OK - so I guess each Sage7 beta release will work for 21 days? That seems a little unusual, but probably the easiest to code. I guess it means that if you start down the beta trail, you have to keep up with it to ensure your system will continue to work.

I think we lost our chance once we popped the question!
