Hopefully 2.0.4 fixes those. The thumbnails are different sizes and in different locations depending on the thumbnail AR and the display AR, but it now looks fairly consistent with the permutations I tested.

One minor bug with the last two releases (2.0.3 and 2.0.4). The commercial breaks aren't shown on the timebar in either the detailed info or recordings list until you select play. At that point it shows them, but since it is only a couple of seconds before the show starts, the breaks are kind of pointless. It would be nice if it always showed the breaks in the timebar.

I'm seeing the same thing on extenders only. On a PC client it works correctly and you see the breaks all the time in detailed info and recordings list. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and no change. Both 2.03 and 2.04.

It's showing the breaks on my extenders. Can you try re-selecting the STV you are using and/or reloading the theme you are using and see if that helps.

Reloading my STV fixed the problem. I had imported an old style stvi imported and wasn't running the base UI. When I reverted to the base and re-imported the other stvi everything was working as designed.

Exact same case here. All is well now.

Thanks for this plugin. Works great on my extenders however not on my client. I have the client plugin installed but I am not seeing CS markers and skips on the time line. I must be missing something/setting?

On the client it probably can't find the edl files - it looks for them at the same path the server has - so you usually will have to map drives on your client computer to match the path of the recording directory on the server.

For instance, if the server is recording to D:\Sage\

Then you need to map the D: drive on the client to point to that drive on the server.

Can I just map my recording directory to a UNC path on the server?

yes, but you also need to record to that same unc path... in other words the mediafile needs to be accessible from the same location on the server and on the client... there are some faq's floating around on how to switch to UNC paths....

Question

Hey guys, n00b question so please be gentle. As in previous posts, my caveat is that I'm a long time SnapStream BeyondTV user who is migrating.

I've got comskip working brilliantly on my SageTV 7 server. I (think!) I have the client installed on my Sage Client machines. However, shows recorded don't seem to show up with ComSkip information on the clients.

Is there any kind of guide/FAQ to setting up Comskip on the Sage Clients? Or would anyone be kind enough in pointing me to the right direction

Thanks!

-HomeyFour

Note: I have searched, but I haven't been able to find exactly what I need (could be a lack of knowledge of Sage terminology! I'm still a Sage noob!)

Posts 108-112 of this thread (the posts located immediately before yours) address this very issue. Basically you just install the STVi on the client and the client must be able to see the recordings on the exact same path as the server does for comskip to work on the client.

from the first post of this thread:

Installation Instructions:
from the Sage V7 main menu go to Setup -> SageTV Plugins -> All Available Plugins -> STVi (should be UI Mods) -> Comskip Playback -> Install Client (or server) Plugin
and a discussion in posts 27-31 of this thread

Circle of Death

Win 7, I have Comskip Playback 2.0.5.1 installed on my version 7.0.16 client, by way of installing Comercial Detector UI 1.20 yesterday.

So now when I move between Program Guide, All Recordings, or use the back arrow, I often get a Spinning Circle of Death for 15 to 30 seconds.

If I disable the client plugin of Comskip Playback 2.0.5.1 from the setup menu, the circle of death problem stops.

Any suggestions?

jerryt, I've seen that symptom when a client doesn't have access to the recording paths on the server either by UNC paths or the same full drive path.

Do you get any comskip marker icons displayed?
Is the client able to access the recording via the exact path displayed at the bottom of the recording detail for a recording?

John
