There is no such thing as a LiveTV tab, so I'm not sure what you are talking about... Older versions would take you to the Status tab, while the newer version presents the Remote control. It doesn't seem like I have actually enabled the streaming from the Status tab, or something isn't working as it should.

Does live TV streaming happen on other platforms?
The iOS version has it.

The remote is sort of interesting, but kind of weird without any feedback if I'm not in front of the computer.
If you're not in front of the selected SageTV Client, I'm not sure what kind of feedback you expect...

Maybe you can change the font or the background to indicate that a button has been pressed.
There is supposed to be haptic feedback for the button presses...

Ah! (meant to ask about this before) For devices without vibration (e.g Asus transformer) and chance of changign the button colour or something?

Well, the iOS version automatically provides some animation on button push, so I thought the Android version might too, but indeed I noticed yesterday that those buttons aren't animated at all... I'll see if I can do something about it.

EDIT: It turns out to be a limitation of Android (which many complain about), where you do need a different "pressed" button image for any animation to happen.

The second item on the main page is Live TV. I'll check out the latest version and see if it's different.

I guess it makes sense that the remote would only be useful in front of the client, but since I can schedule recordings and almost everything else without the remote, maybe there should be a separate menu that just pops up the remote.

Nice, I will try this out if I ever get time to migrate to v7. And if SageTV continues to be a viable option in the future.

What I'm saying is that it used to switch to the Status tab, but for the last 7 versions it is to the Remote control tab. There isn't a dedicated "LiveTV tab".

Unless you start playback or LiveTV, the Remote control and Status are only accessible through the "Option menu button"... Typically, when people start either, it is likely because they are in front of the Client and controlling it makes sense.

We are aware that the new licensing used in 2.09+ is spamming some users on the first day of activation. The company that is providing the licensing software has no idea why... We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Version 2.12

- Fixed a licensing issue.

Version 2.13

- Moved some items out of the Option menus.
- Can now modify the Favorites.

Basically, things like Delete/Play/Record/Stream (VLC) are more readily available, as you no longer have to hunt them down in the Option menus...

I did notice that the Playlist is broken, either I'm compiling against the wrong Studio Tools version, or it got broken during the SageTV beta...

Version 2.14

- Fix: 3.x tablets would crash coming back from detailed view.
- Fix: Could crash with OS Bluetooth support without an adapter.
- Fix: Would sometime crash on launch.
- If they are empty, automatically start a sync for Albums/Photos/Songs/Videos.

So if people with the newer Android 3.x tablets could try this version and let me know if that got rid of the crashes...

Xoom running Honeycomb 3.2. So far no force closes. Awesome job!

A couple of requests:

Allow the deletion of scheduled recordings
Change the default filter to *

Is it possible to change the name of the extender to something more meaningful?

Thanks again. This is becoming one of the best apps on my tablet.

Good, so now I can try bumping the target OS...

Quote:

I do see a CancelRecord method in the Sage API, I'll see how effective it is...

Quote:

Well, it was for lists with under 100 items, but I'll boost it to 250...

Sure, you do that in the SageTCPServer plugin configuration or by editing the Sage.properties file if it fails...

Version 2.15

- List with less than 500 items (up from 100), now have the default filter *.
- Compiled against Android OS 3.2.
- Targeting Android OS 3.2.

It should improve things for Android 3.x users, but might bring back the crashes for Android 2.3+ devices...

Right, I did noticed that on the simulator, but wasn't sure if real device would have that issue too... It's probably trying to move it to the title bar, but since I have a custom one it fails...

Version 2.16

- Targeting Android OS 2.3.3, so 3.x tablet users can use the Option menu button...

I will likely need to redo my Title bar (with the Server/Client connection images) for the Option menu to be useable on 3.x tablets...

version 2.16 seems to work much better for me. Well, Ive not had a force close since upgrading (used to get them when clicking back after viewing details of almost anything)

However I can get anything to appear in any page under TV. The lists are empty and there's no menu on the TV page.

There is a Synchronise on the menu under program guide (but on no other page), but selecting synchronise simply goes back to the TV page!

Tried clearing the database, but it doesnt help

Not seeing anything wrong in the log, except for the part where you haven't selected a Client to monitor yet (top/right icon)... If you haven't changed your info, I'll try connecting to your server and see if it works on my side...

Quote:

Actually, it synchronizes the lineups, the reason it takes you back to the previous section is so the list of lineups/channels will be filled when you get back... You will see the same behavior from the Albums/Songs/Photos/Videos section. It's faster filling a list when you don't try to constantly update a listview displaying it...

EDIT: OK, I connected fine to your server, listed 449 favorites... Didn't have the simulator registered so only got 10 Recordings/Schedule, but that was all good... Let me register the simulator and try again...

EDIT2: Ran the registered version, got your 638 Recordings and 556 Scheduled shows... Try to quit the app (back + confirmation), then relaunch it...

Didnt bother with that as I dont often run clients and the configuration on the server is wrong and I keep forgetting to fix it when its not recording.

Did see the behavoiur in the other sections, but they did start to update after a second or so. For the TV, well I was waiting a while, well 10 minutes or more and its over Wifi so I thought that would be long enough (was for the other sections).

Restarting again (3rd time I think!) has got it syncing

Hmmm! Wonder if its not being closed anymore when I switch to the home screen.... yeah that looks to be it! This new version doesnt get closed like the old one did when you switch away from it. The client interface also carries on running in the status area and it seems to survive powering the screen off

The Home button has never done that on Android, you are thinking iPhone/iPod before they gained multi-tasking in iOS 4...
