Drocap2- it works only with rooted phones however.

I just wanted to post back that I am able see my recordings from my HDPVR. I previously reported that I could no get any picture but here sound when streaming. I had to lock my cable box to recording at 720P. I had it locked at 108i. None of the previous recordings I had at 1080i work. I am having no problems now streaming either HDPVR or HDHR recordings. I am still playing with the settings in vlc and will post them when I am more confident of the settings. I am streaming to a HTC EVO currently with Android 2.1 We should be getting Froyo within a few days.

Thanks Fonceur again. I just purchased a license.

In addition, I was able to use TASageTV to manual setup a recording of a baseball game I wanted to watch that was currently in progress. I then went to recording list and the game was listed. I then was able to stream the game. So, in essence I was practically streaming LiveTV.

Thanks for the information. I just locked my STB at 720p to give it a go!

Good to hear that it helped for the HD-PVR!

Hmm, I am surprised it worked that way! First of all, I had been told that the list of recordings only updated some time after the end of the recording, and then there is the part about streaming a file being recorded to...

I wanted to ask you about that. When a favorite is being recorded, it does not show up in the Recorded shows list. It did though when I set the manual recording through TASageTV.

Oh I see, so it's the manual recording part that made it work... I wonder if it's the Sage API that is handling both cases differently or if I am filtering out the currently recording Favorites and somehow the Manual ones are getting through...

Duh, sure enough I am using "IsCompleteRecording|IsManualRecord" as a pre-filter... While it might have made sense before, by now I can't see why it's in there... I'm not home currently, but I'll have an update later today.

As promised earlier, here are my settings that have been working for me for streaming. I am streaming to my HTC EVO using SageTV 7.0.12 WHS server using VLC 1.1.0. I am streaming both HDPVR (720P) and HDHR recordings with good sound and picture.
Code:
sageTCPServer/streamingRTSPType=mp4a-latm
sageTCPServer/streamingTranscodeOptions=soverlay,ab\=100,samplerate\=44100,channels\=2,acodec\=mp4a,vcodec\=h264,width\=320,height\=180,vfilter\="canvas{width\=320,height\=180,aspect\=16\:9}",fps\=29,vb\=200,venc\=x264{vbv-bufsize\=500,partitions\=all,level\=12,no-cabac,subme\=7,threads\=4,ref\=2,mixed-refs\=1,bframes\=0,min-keyint\=1,keyint\=50,trellis\=2,direct\=auto,qcomp\=0.0,qpmax\=51,deinterlace}
sageTCPServer/streamingVLCOptions=-I dummy --no-sub-autodetect-file --one-instance
sageTCPServer/streamingVLCPath=C\:/Program Files/VideoLAN/VLC/vlc.exe
Fonceur's original settings were causing pretty bad pixilation on my recordings. I found most of these settings while looking to solve the HDPVR (1080i) problem. 1080i recording will not stream a picture.

I wanted to note that under streamingVLCOptions I added --one-instance option. With this option, you do not have to set any vlc options in the gui. Fonceur mentioned this as a note in the SageTCPServer wiki.

I am currently have Android 2.1 on my phone but are expecting a Froyo update in the next few days. I will report back if I see any differences with these settings with the new operating system.

I also wanted to tell you that when vlc is streaming. It is taken around 20% CPU.

Enjoy

It was added to the default a while back, but you likely had an older installation, which is why it didn't get updated...

I will update the default streamingTranscodeOptions to yours. (just delete the lines in sage.properties to get the new defaults...)

Fonceur:

Quick question about updating. When you provide a new version above, does the direct download link on the wiki get the latest version also.

When I update, will any of the setting reset such as my registration key.

Thanks.

The reason I provide the file here is for faster access... I do put a copy in a Tallus dropbox, but it can take a few hours for those to make it to the wiki. For the Android application itself, when it is available from the wiki, you can also use the link on the About screen.

As far as I know, the registration, database and all should be preserved between updates. If I modify the database's table, I do wipe the database and you will need to resynchronize...

P.S. I updated my previous post and added SageTCPServer 1.5.6 to it...

and I HAVE VIDEO!!!! and audio

SD looks great but doesnt fill the whole screen for some reason, HD Is pixely garbage, but hey the stream works!! now to tweak.

To add to the list of successful streaming
1. Sagetv beta v7.12
2. Sagetcp with update jar from this thread
3. Motorola Droid, rooted with Ultimate Droid (blackdroidmod) v4.0.0
4. Doubletwist and VideoPlayer both working

thank you all!!!

If you look at the parameters, the resolution is 320x180, so that's probably why...

Well i am just confused then, need to make sure my paramater changes stuck.

I changed it to 800x450 (recommended elsewhere) and it looks identical.

Also, i have both your -one instance and one istance set in the gui, and i still get multiple vlcs, sometimes using up to 90% cpu. Got investigate more. But still, very cool.

Make sure to shutdown SageTV (and service mode, if it's running) before editing sage.properties...

You changed both instances, right? (width\=320,height\=180,vfilter\="canvas{width\=320,height\=180,aspect\=16\:9}")

Sounds like the parameter didn't stick... Or maybe those were old instances you hadn't killed before changing the parameters?

Well i got the settings to stick. Confirmed by viewing the feed via vlc on another computer on the network (speaking of, how do i stop the stream without remoting into my sage server and killing vlc from task manager?)

Everything is still really pixelly though.

ScreenHunter_03 Aug. 01 18.49.gif

settings are

I will update the default streamingTranscodeOptions to yours. (just delete the lines in sage.properties to get the new defaults...)
Just so I am clear, which lines in sage.properties should I be deleting to get the defaults, the sageTCPServer/streamingTranscodeOptions= line, any others, and delete completely as they are set in the sageTCPserver jar ?

Thanks

Well, there's an Android app called VLC Remote, which you could probably use for that...

You could probably get rid of all the sageTCPServer/streaming* lines.
