Comcast: SD STB with firewire?
Just wondering if anyone has had any luck getting a STB with 1394 from Comcast while subscribing the the standard def extended basic plan (I think they call it "Digital Starter")?
If so, any advice on what I should say/ask for at the local Comcast office? The person that I talked to today at my local Comcast office had never heard of firewire and said that the Moto DCT2244 was the only box that I could get without getting charged the monthly HD equipment fee. On a side note: I also asked Comcast if I could buy my own STB instead of renting. They said no, and that they would not activate a box that I purchased used. But there are tons of Comacast STB's on ebay and some models sell for $150 or more. So why are people buying them if Comcast won't activate the boxes? Am I missing something here? |
