Question Is there a way to keep your place in a podcast or audiobook?

I listen to audiobooks and podcasts in mp3 format from my media library and my biggest problem is that I haven't figured out a way to keep my place when I hit stop like what it does for videos. I realize for normal songs you wouldn't want this, but it's pretty annoying having to skip through 55 minutes of an hour show. I thought about trying to rename them to m4b files but a search on the forums led me to believe that wouldn't help. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.
