Question Menu button starts Windows 7 Media Center

I'm in the process of transitioning over to Windows 7 32 Bit and am having some trouble.

I've installed SageTVLauncher so SageTV will now start when I press the menu button on my remote however, Media Center also starts. I tried disabling all the media center services but no luck (this used to work in MCE 2005).

I know there's a soultion out there but I just can't find it.
Any suggestions?

If you don't use Media Center, you can uninstall it under Windows 7 (under control panel, programs, turn Windows features on or off).

I'll give it a try but I know in the future I'll want to stream movies to my xBox 360 and I was going to look in to using media center as the server. So, I wouldn't want to totally disable it...just the remote control portion.

As you are already using LM Remote KeyMap why do you not select the "Exclusive use..." option?

Regards,
Stéphane.

I was using LMRemote with my XP machine but I'm not using it with the new Windows 7 system.

turn off Media Center from reacting to a MSC keyboard or IR remote

click Start | Control Panel | Default Programs | Set Program access and computer defaults

then select the option for Custom
expand chevron at right side of screen
then scrool down for category: Choose a default media player
find: Windows Media Center
then uncheck option: Enable access to this program
beside: Windows Media Center
