U-Verse STB w/o DVR (VIP1200 model) does not time-out anymore!
Can anyone else confirm this? I had my old non-DVR set-top box replaced with a new one (same Motorola VIP1200 model), and the power light is ALWAYS green now, and it does not time-out. The only reason that U-Verse would have updated the firmware for this would be to accommodate 3rd party IR-blasters/DVRs that need it to always "stay alive".
I mean...I am happy, but it makes no sense for ATT to have done this. If you have any more info on this, let me know. I am really curious, since now my IR blaster works on it's schedule just fine since the STB is always awake, even when I have not watched something in days. No more need to use the STBKeepAlive function or the Hauppauge IR Blaster program that sends periodic pulses to keep it awake. Thanks!!
