Serial control of Dish Network?
I am thinking about switching to dish network. Is there some sort of serial control for dish network? If not how would I control the dish network receiver?
Thanks |

Either a USB-UIRT or a IR-200 should control the Dishnet receiver (I'm going to order one or the other this weekend, they both should work fine).

I haven't seen any dish recievers that have serial control. This isn't really a problem, because some of the boxes have more than one remote channel, so basically you can have two 301 recievers that use different sets of commands so you can use one usb-uirt to control two boxes. Both sets of commands should be easy to find with a forum search. I have one of them if you can't find the first set.
Now, I have no experience with the newer boxes, so they may not have this, but I'm sure the 301 has two (maybe 3) channels. Be sure not to buy any of the 'two tuner' dvr boxes, you can only get one signal out of them, so for sage purposes the 2nd tuner is useless. All that said, my dish works awesome with sage. |

Dish & IR200L
Hey there,
I have a Bell ExpressVu 3010 receiver, which is the equivalent of the Dish 301 receiver. I was able to use the Actisys IR200L serial blaster with the default settings for Dish network in Sage V. 2.0.15 without any config. I'm using the default IR config on the box as well. |
