Using QNAP NAS as SageTV server
so. here is a question i couldnt find in a few searches:
Has anyone been able to install and run Sage server on a NAS? i just got a QNAP TS-809 and was thinking about that option.. http://www.qnap.com/pro_detail_hardware.asp?p_id=109 to be able to get java running and install Sage would make a beautiful little (even tiny) 12 TB Sage server box.... HDHR tuners... HD200 for viewing...

So i have made absolutely no head way into using the QNAP as a Sage server, but as mu NAS media repository it works wonderfully.
It is loaded with 2 TB WD WD20000CSRTL drives (resale version of the W20EADS), and i have brutally tested it recording 4 OTA HD streams, playing one back, and having two laptops doing Time Machine backups to it - no hiccups at all. look at the second report down for more specifics: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/feedback/..._wireless.html
