SageTV Client Feature Set Lags SageTV.

Hi,

I love the new features added in 2.0.15! Mostly, I like the way the schedules are displayed together, (not spread out in a time grid) and how show series are placed in a folder. Sage BETA has been very stable and problem free so far but the Client seems to be behind on the feature set and does not have the latter features.

Are these features going to be added to the client?

Considering the Streaming feature of the client works so well on my 54G Wireless network allowing 2 clients to stream at the same time with no skips or pauses, I would like to see a feature added to allow each client to become a storage drive (NODE) to the master and use the same transport as the streaming feature to send the video to the Node. Reason for asking is I have always had problems using remote drives on the wireless network. While I get 20 mbps across the wireless network, it has never been smooth enough to support two people streaming 3MBit/Sec VBR DVD quality videos at the same time. Yet the client works so well.

I keep getting a question popup even on the client that is asking me for permission to change channels when I am only watching recoded shows and never watched live TV. Is there a way to assume YES or place recording a higher priority than watching? The HTPC is for recording / timeshifting, not watching live TV.

Regards,

Mark

Not really sure what you mean on the recording listings...

I have all of the exact same options for how to show the recording schedule, etc on my client as I do on my Sage TV Server...

In fact, the interfaces are identical on mine.

I don't have an answer for your channel change prompt though. I have enough tuners in my server that I've never seen that message before.

Re: Options for showing recording schedule?

Right click while on the recordings screen (or upcoming recording screen), or if you do not use the mouse then use whatever button you have mapped to Options (ctrl O).

This should rpotate through the different 'view' settings.

Also, you can turn OFF the ability to change it via the Options button in Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Multimedia -> Video Menu Setup.

Hi,

Thanks for the help. Both client and server are the same now.

I noticed that if I hit {ESC} while viewing the lists, it will adjust to view also. I will have to watch that from now on.

Regards,

Mark

Did you ever read the V2 Release Notes? All that interface stuff was covered there, plus most of the other changes, fixes, etc. You can go to Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Commands -> Link Command to see the entire list of commands and their associated keystroke, if one is assigned.

Andy,

You want me to read? While I appreciate your response, I feel I shouldn't have to read through through a lengthy history document in order to get the options. F1 or an updated help file would be nice. (Hint, Hint). However, this is BETA.

Thanks for pointing me to the file, I will read it when I have time.

Regards,

Mark
