New Installation, keeping old recordings?

The cable company brought in a new Scientific Atlanta box recently. The composite out from this box gives me totally unpredicable contrast and brightness. This and the fact that everything is HTDV made me decide to move it all onto a new box.

I've built a new computer to install my SageTV into.

My old SageTV box was running Windows XP Pro with about 300 gigs of HDD space. The new one is Windows7 64bit, running on an Intel i5/661, 2TB HDD, using the on-chip HDMI video. I will be using a Happage HD-PVR for the video source.

I'd like to keep my old recordings and will copy them onto the new system.

Is there anything special I'll need to do to put my SageTV into another computer? Such as, do I have to duplicate the pathnames from the old box onto the new box? Or can I just use copies of my existing wiz.bin? (and sage.properties?)

There's a FAQ for that.

Short version: keep your old Wiz.bin, start fresh with a new Sage.properties.

Wanted to say thanks. I am just getting ready to do a re-install myself (going to Win7), and was just about to ask this very same question. Now to just make sure I have my license keys available (unfortunately, my main key was purchased from pcalchemy so I know I can't get it from them anymore... I am pretty sure I have it in a backup email).
