Time Sync

I noticed the other day that my time was off by about 1 min. This was causing recording to start late.
I have heard all along that the time should be syncing with the sage Servers. However I don't think it is.

I ended up changing the time on the PC to get it closer to accurate.

What settings do I need to make to get the time sync'd up?
Just trying to figure out what I'm missing.

What operating system are you using?

If you're using XP then double click on the clock in the system tray. On the dialog box that pops up, select the tab all the way to the right. That should allow you to select a time server to sync up with.

Good luck.

I'm running 2K.

I was under the impression that Sage actually would sync the Sage clock and system clock for you. Via an atomic clock server similar to the way XP does it.

Is this untrue?

I know that v2 has a setting for syncing your time with Sage's servers, but that may not be the best option. Windows 2K has a service that will do it for you. Also, given the option, would you rather sync with Sage or the National Institute of Standards and Technology?

If you would like your clock to always match THE clock, then check out these instructions (they're in PDF form).

You can also find a list of their servers here.

While this method is a little more difficult than clicking a checkbox in Sage, it is much more flexible and will survive any software changes/upgrades/uninstalls.

Good luck.

There are some good suggestions in this post:

I ended up using the program called automachron, which can easily be found using google. Since I started using automachron I haven't had any problems at all.
