Zaggbox as HD PVR ??

http://www.zagg.com/zaggbox/index.ph...mp=top_nav_btn

I Just found this device tonight and it looks like its capable of recording on three seperate component inputs with IR blasters and all. Does this look like an alternative to the HD PVR??

I dunno, the website doesn't appear to either be working with my browser or it has too little of information. Just because something has component inputs, doesn't mean it records in HD. It very well could only be recording all HD signals at SD.

It looks like it can record in h264. I'm not sure if it will do a full 1080 resolution or not.

They're marketing it as a competitor to the Tivo, AppleTV, and Slingbox. With a built in hard drive, I doubt it would be feasible to use with Sage, since it would appear to actually BE a PVR.

Looks VERY interesting......I don't see any USB outputs though. Could make it a deal breaker.

Looks like it has 4 USBs. It says USB input on them for the purpose of adding external hard drives. I know that it will output media to portable devices so I would assume it does it with the USB port.

Yep, seems to be the case. It seems to focus on streaming to mobile devices such as the iPhone as it automatically saves a compressed version of every show to be streamed. Even with 3 component inputs, I doubt it has three internal encoders, which means it can only record from one source at a time. It has terabyte of space, but can be expanded via external USB drives. And there's talk of house automation integration. And like the HD-200, it seems to be able to play anything you throw at it. All for "under a $1000". Not bad for a company that makes screen protectors.

If they make client extender boxes, support recording 3 shows simultaneously and support the HDHR, then it will be really interesting product.
